There's not much to this film. The premise, which is unbelievable, is that a rookie policewoman is left by herself in an apparently haunted jail.
She's free to leave after seeing strange occurrences and crazy people who want to terrorize her, but she stays.
Its sort of like a Halloween haunted house as she runs around dodging or shooting the ghosts of some crime that occurred in the past. She takes a bunch of phone calls from ghosts also.
The sole actress is not convincing as a cop. This situation would never happen. The plot is wafer-thin, and is never explained.
Im not sure why this particular movie has a small, but vocal group of defenders. Its low budget, filmed in one small office building and has no resolution in the end.
Its a waste of time and mental energy trying to figure it out. But I want to take the time to make sure it gets rated correctly.
Theres so many other small, independent horror movies that deserve attention.

I neglected watching this film because it seemed to be another in a long line of serial killer movies of which Ive had enough.
"Watcher" is a pleasure of a thriller. It is beautifully filmed in Romania, in a Soviet-era apartment house.
Maika Monroe is a great actress; Every part she plays, whether being in a big movie or small, she plays for keeps.
The plot is simple, the pacing is slow but deliberate. It takes a little bit to get going, but the last 20 minutes are gold.
With the exception of the actor playing the husband in this film, who is frustratingly dense and one dimensional, the actors are very good.
This is one of the more effective thrillers in recent years. Highly recommended.
