Note de oschlick
Terrible overacting, grotesque exaggeration, hackneyed presentation of what unimaginative brits think might very deutsch.
The true story of this (infact very ridiculous) scandal could have been told in a kind of deadpan humour which could have effect much more the hilarious circumstances of the detection of these ridiculous diaries. The series is nothing but a freak show.
In the meantime lots of those circumstances Gitta Serenyi has described years ago (e.g. In 2002) have been veryfied by other authors: the forger wasn't only a clownish small-time crook and notorious liar but also was part of a network of die-hard and neo-nazis who were all part of a discourse inside the nazi scene in the beginning of the 1980s.
The series primarily presents shoddy acting, tastless jokes and never strikes the right note.
Beyond comprehension to watch an usually so impressing actor like Jonathan Pryce doing such a horsplay.
