Terrible movie that undoes everything the first movie established for the characters. They are weak, stupid, scared, unmotivated and particularly boring. This movie has no teeth at all, there is nothing dangerous about it, and even the main actress is horribly unattractive. I say that because at one point she is called a supermodel - but no, she is not. I mean, who are they trying to fool with this mess?
This didn't work for me as a heist movie, nor as a movie set on the Med - but it definitely didn't work for me as the sequel to Den of Thieves. It was almost like they were apologizing for making the first one.
I finally turned it off and went to bed; because sleep was more exciting than this.

The actors all did a fantastic job.
Unfortunately, the writing and directing were rutterless and unimaginative.
Another contemporary Hollywood production that doesn't know what it is and won't take any risks trying to be it.
Was this about Dylan's love life? Was it about his frustrations with fame? Was it about his struggles to remain authentic? Was it about his massive ego versus his gigantic genius? Unfortunately, it was all of these things and therefore did not succeed in any of them.
The result was the same mediocre, superficial trite that Hollywood has been serving up for biopics since time immemorial. I can list on one hand the number of biopics I have seen that were not completely forgettable, and the only thing that makes this one not completely subsume into the same ignominy was the terrific performances by the main cast.
How did Dylan's struggle with fame contribute to his decision to go electric? This was the question for the movie, but it wasted its time on his love life rather than answering the question. The question is deep and nuanced and the movie presents it with a shrug and then tries to distract the audience with romance. In the end, it was just a montage of moments that left me feeling overly fatigued and wholly uninspired.
Uninspired by Bob Dylan? Now that's a real shame.
A movie completely unknown even unto itself.

This is one of my favorite Star Wars live action series. Episode 5 was particularly good.
And I say that as a person who is highly critical of all things Disney and despises what they've done to Star Wars, IJ, the MCU, etc.
My biggest complaint about this series is the way they overuse Jedis. Whatever the Jedis where doing on the planet where they met the twins, they sure didn't need four of them. A master and padawan would have sufficed. And they sent six or seven Jedi to the planet for the Wookie Jedi? Why? To make that worse, most of the time the entire team was standing around looking utterly lost, as if they were just some low ranking henchmen. EVERY JEDI is a master fighter, a master scientist, a leader and somebody who knows what they are doing and why they are doing it. This show completely failed to evoke that mythos.
I blame Lucas himself for that failure - we saw it in the prequels as well - but here it borders on parody. A Jedi should be almost a hermit - wandering their quadrant helping people as the most powerful single beings in the galaxy. A Jedi is as powerful as a full army! So six or seven together for one small mission? Total overkill.
I also hated the woman playing the green Jedi. She was horrible at her part and I was physically repulsed every time she was on screen.
But most of the rest of the acting was good except the Korean lead. His performance was way too emotive for a Jedi.
I do echo the objections to the witch ritual scene. That was poorly done. Good idea, but wow it was very bad in execution.
Still, I really liked the main actress as well as the twins who played the young ones. The mother witch was amazing and the bad guy was perfect - not only the actor, but the costume and the story. He was the best villain since Darth Maul.
And the light saber duals were probably the best I've ever seen. Seriously, they were that good.
The story was also good - actually enjoyable for once, which is something I haven't been able to say for anything from Disney in a few years. Production value, costumes, cinematography and special effects were all top quality as well.
I might even watch this again someday - though that might be an exegeration.
