Adam (Alex Knapp) is dating K (Olivia Luccardi). He could also be the last man on Earth. There is no one around. Then there are glimpses of his other life. Is he going mad? Maybe he is just heart-broken. Whatever it is, the movie gets rather repetitive in the middle. The audience is left waiting until the ultimate reveal. Maybe there is enough here for a Black Mirror episode. It probably doesn't even have that. This is a bare-bones indie idea looking for more meat to the story. There is not enough here to fill out a full-length movie or anything close to that. I do like the ending, but that is after a long slow middle.
Cassandra Evans is the school nerd musician with one and only friend. She admires popular girl Katie Sharp. She tries to befriend the queen bee mean girl, but it all goes wrong. She becomes Katie Sharp's target for bullying. In frustration, she prays that Katie Sharp would walk in her shoes. The two girls wake up in each other's bodies.
This is Freaky Friday and Mean Girls with a healthy dose of Christianity. I'm fine with all of that if it's written well. The setup is fine. I like this until the girls switch. They should be smart enough to try playing the other person. The comedy comes when they try and fail. At the start, they're not even trying. Then there are the girls and the two personalities. There are so many things to play with and the movie doesn't do them. The characters need to be more specific so that the two actresses can do more specific acting. It is all a bit lazy.

This is based on true events. It is 1983 Denver. A series of bank robberies has attracted FBI agent Terry Husk (Jude Law). Fellow agent Joanne Carney (Jurnee Smollett) is worried about him. Helpful local deputy Jamie Bowen (Tye Sheridan) directs him to local Aryan Nation member Bob Mathews (Nicholas Hoult) who is organizing a splinter group.
This is another version of this story. Everybody is great in this. The secret sauce is Nicholas Hoult. He really sells that he can be a charismatic leader who could gather a group of true believers. Jude Law and Tye Sheridan are also great. It is a steady walk down the darker American dream and is so compelling for it.
