Note de TheVirginArmy
( acting was believable). That is really all I've to say of a film that was so lifeless and without point , I can only imagine a hardcore anglophile to take to it. I don't need to get into detail of a film that lacked it. What is suprising is that Stephen Rea was in this film.
The most forgettable film I've ever seen.

seems a well intended tribute to the original film , but lacked depth in my view. not enough time for depth i suppose when you are in the air slicing about with a sword every 3 minutes. if you like bruce willis style car chases shootem up films, then you'll like this, ( unless you are find it too "cultural" for yourself) :) Myself, i found my mind wandering during it to such things as " I wonder if my socks will match if i look down" and other more fascinating thoughts.
i found this adaptation of the graham greene novel to have the depth and character study of the old black and white classics, yet with so many modern twists on the order in which the story is told. a must see of the choice of love for God, spouse and/or lover. done by touching on every basic human emotion that i can think of. extremely high quality, almost too good for myself. ;-) timeles classic
