I enjoyed this. The camper competition was a little strange, but the leads were good. The normal misunderstandings were handled with much more honesty than drama. This is unusual with such movies. The camper was cute, but the sudden appearance of a competition was a little much. Just put in your normal small town fair and it would have done the same thing. The beginning never made sense to me. Brandon acted as if he were running from the law and had to leave town before anyone could find him. The mother's ploy to bring Dillon home to keep her grandpa from eating corndogs was a little ridiculous also. Need a little better writing. But I did like it.
I actually liked this movie. GAC's writing got better with this one. Ingrid was over the top, but the other characters fit well. I especially liked the landlord's relationship with Poppy. He seemed to genuinely care for Poppy. Her fiance was good, but when he still wanted to have 'the boys over to play over spending time with her, that was a no brainer. The fact that he didn't seem to want to move forward with the wedding plans said alot about his commitment. The two leads didn't have alot of chemistry, but they made it work. You could tell he cared for her early on. He never took advantage and considered her feelings from the beginning. All in all, I really liked it.
Made it almost made it halfway through before I lost my cookies, uh chocolate. The main male character's boss was unrealistic. She had no real emotion. Seemed as though she read her lines. The male character went from jerk to decent in no time. Love Eloise Mumford in almost everything she is in. This one didn't fit. And then halfway in Hallmark brought in their token character to satisfy their new agenda. Which is not wholesome or family friendly at all. Their movies are reaching an all time low. The writing is bad. The actors and actresses seem to be reading all their lines. Just wasn't worth my time to finish it.
