This episode is brilliant as it reminds that our hopes are not always what reality is or we hope to much even if it is the human nature.
This episode could have been the end of the show (writers strike as previously said in a lot of comments) still there is something close to philosophy here... between what defines us as human (a constant in Galactica that reminds us of the brilliant Blade Runner) and hope and survival.
This show pushes these ideas to the limits (40k people in ships fleeing the ennemy in a hope to survive), something few of us have really experimented.
Development of some are very interresting and I do enjoy the spiritual contents at it is always present and contreversial between the two religions (perhaps three) and the practical approach these survivors have to take sometimes.
This episode is a turning point and from here things will develop. If you do not want to watch all the episodes, at least put this one on your to watch list.
