OK, I really wanted to rate this a 10, just because I saw how underrated this movie was in its reviews by a small group of people whom I believe tainted its rating unfairly.I do believe that this movie was a solid 9, however, and if more people watched it, it would be ranked up there where it rightfully belongs.
This movie doesn't sugar coat how certain groups indoctrinate and are fueled by hatred, and how others, who are hated, can choose to respond apart from that ignorance. That, in itself, was a courageous endeavor that ended up truly moving. The best part, though, were the phenomenal performances and believability of the actors in the key roles...my hat off to you all for such very fine work, above and beyond, in an ongoing crisis of wills that has lasted way too long in our beautifully diverse world. This is a truly stunning performance and tribute to a richly ancient people who have represented God's heart and will in the midst of adversity. I sure hope to see more of these films, more of these actors, and hope more of the viewers who choose to watch and be as moved as I was, and my company, choose to vote and review this movie into the top where it belongs... good watching to you all!

I was really surprised at the review ratings for this movie. At first I considered not watching it because of the average rating, but when flipping through it it appeared like a movie to consider watching, after all some ratings, for me, have been way off. I am not into really bad slap stick comedy or bad acting, or in mediocre been done before scripts. I began watching the movie and almost regretted it, after a slow start, and after a few over acted comedy parts, but upon finishing it, I was glad I stuck it out. The overly comic parts were far and few between, and turned out to be a little of the comic relief that balanced the emotional and some what unique script. The acting by Tina,Ben,Paul, and Travaris was actually good (they gave Tina a bit much of the overly comic parts, but what can you do). Overall, I was impressed with the movie and its "differentness".
I would recommend this movie to those who aren't overly critical on every detail and aspect of a movie, to those who like sensitive movies that overcome pasts and trials and fight for people and ideals, and to those who can weigh the value of people who are not perfect or who do things perfectly, but who change and grow and fight to do better.

I must tell you that through out the movie I was getting a little exasperated. By the end of the movie though, it all came together. That was just the superb acting/directing/writing/producing coming down on me. Jennifer Lawrence...WOW! Her acting was amazing, and Bradley Cooper was terrific. And such a great supporting cast. I won't give it away, but how you feel through the movie is exactly how you should as you live the characters scene by scene. It comes to a masterful conclusion and I have a great respect for Jennifer Lawrence(She is not just beautiful folks),even more so now, and Bradley Cooper as well.
Not everyone can appreciate a well done performance such as this, but then there are some who made Honey BOO BOO popular too...just think about that.
