I guess since it had to be the last of the franchise, they had to make it more emotional. Showing scenes from the earlier movies was nice, however it goes down too much into sentiments. The movie is slow, lacks actions like the others.
That said, it has to be watched by MI fans. Even though it drags for 3 hrs, it's still a good movie if you are fan of the franchise. Just don't expect it to be like the rest of the movies.
Somehow Tom Cruise's stunts in the other ones were really good (top one being climbing the Burj Khalifa). In this one, the plane scene was good, but keeps breaking into scenes to show what the others are doing.
Again it's a good movie for MI fans ( can watch at home though ) , but for a MI flick, it seems too long at 3 hrs.
One more thing. The climax is disappointing. I was expecting more action with the villain.

The movie is brilliant with great acting by Sohum Shah. It's an well made thriller. Most of the movie he's driving in the car. It's not easy to hold one's attention with must of the shooting done in the car, yet Sohum Shah manages so well (unlike if you remember Locke , which is a Tom Hardy movie). The way he's stuck in such a situation with so phone calls to solve so many issues is crazy. It's a complete Sohum Shah movie all the way. At some point, even the music reminded me of Tummbad.
It's really good and interesting right till the climax which is a very big let down. Had it been a better climax I could have given this an 8 at least.

Madhavan is brilliant in this movie. The movie has a fantastic pace. It will keep you engaged throughout, and make you wonder what is going to happen next.
The way Madhavan has made his character evil with slight humor is fantastic. The movie is intense at times, and makes you think what are the options for the parents, whose daughter is completely under the control of a person who does not hesitate to hurt her or her family, or use her in hurting her family. The tension is kept throughout and you just want to know what the family will do next.
Do go and watch this in the theater if you can !
