I am a big fan of 50s sci-fi b-movies. Of course, there is no telling how much "b" a movie can really be! Well, this one hits rock bottom. It is unbelievable in its every detail. The acting is so awful, that I couldn't believe my eyes and ears. The plot is dumb, to say the least. The dialogues could make you laugh hard or leave you speechless. How could anyone produce such a movie? And the strangest things of all is that it seems so much older than actually is.Well, I don't even mention the special effects. Think that the "monster" is actually the shadow of a lobster! With all that in mind, one could still enjoy this film as a bizarre product of a magical cinematographic era.
This movie is supposed to be a spoof of James Bond movies, but, in my opinion, in that it has no considerable success. However, that does not mean that the film is not merited. In fact, it is a great satire about the ethics of the 60s, and all the craziness of that era.I liked the costumes and the settings very much, and I think Elizabeth Hurley, gorgeous as ever, is another important reason to see this movie. Indeed, some jokes are too amateurish, but there are some good laughs. Too bad the sequel was a bit of disappointment.
I think that this story with Donald is as entertaining as any other with Donald in the cast. I love Chip and Dale! How lovely those animated productions really were! I only wish I had the chance to collect them.
