I am at a loss to explain how this series manages a 8.3.
The episodes tend to be formulaic, with the outcome often obvious 5 minutes into the show.
The scenery budget must be enormous given how many of the cast spend the entire episode chewing on it, especially in the later series - I've not seen such overacting since William Shatner did Captain Kirk.
I check out an episode of a new series when it comes out in hopes that things have improved, but the show has been on a downwards trajectory quality-wise ever since season 1.
Whereas the US military intelligence complex often helps support TV shows that improve their reputation, I think in this case UK intelligence would pay money to stop it, unless the intention is to convince other intelligence agents that they are truly as incompetent as portrayed, in order that they be underestimated.
There are plenty of other shows in this arena out there - I recommend all of them above this one.

I was prepared to give this a go after initially giving it 5/10, but two episodes in I'm calling it quits and leaving it 3/10.
There is not a hint of originality in this show; it comes across as something an AI would come up with if asked to make an animated Canadian super hero comedy. It rips off Marvel comics like Alpha Flight, throws in a bit of the old trope of individuals having to work together as a team, and adds a huge dose of stereotyping.
I wouldn't even mind that if it was funny, but it just isn't. It's trying to be irreverent, but the villains are cliches and the level of humour doesn't even reach primary school level.
There are plenty of good animated comedies and superhero shows out there; this is not one of them.

The main attractions for Death in Paradise are the beautiful setting, the labyrinthine murder plots and the interesting characters.
Beyond Paradise has none of these. Humphrey was by far the most annoying detective from Death in Paradise and in Beyond Paradise his worst characteristics have been accentuated and his IQ has been lowered by around 60 points.
The murder plots are so pedestrian that you can often work how who will be murdered and why within the first couple of minutes-there is none of the twisted logic of Death in Paradise.
As to the ultra-white setting - the only surprise is how come everyone seems to be able to drive around in open top cars bearing in mind the location would in reality see most of them flooded on most days.
The biggest surprise of all is why a second season was ever commissioned.
