A neat adaptation of the Classic '12 Angry Men' by Sidney Lumet. Brajeswar Dutta, a Lawyer gets a case where a 19 year old allegedly killed his own brother and is to be in hearing tomorrow, with plenty of 'evidence' on him- An old man who heard him running after the murder and a lady who witnessed this murder through her window. The story is similar to the original, but the jury takes place on the lead actor's head and happens at fascinating places- An Art Gallery, Middle of a flyover, On a movie theater, beach and a forest. Dialogues were sharp and performances were extraordinary. Recommended! But could have bought in some new plot as for those who watched 12 angry men, it could be repetitive.
A folklore on the place Tumbbad which has a haunted fort and sparse population around it. The tale goes like the Goddess of Prosperity has 16 crore children and loved his first child, Hastar the most.
Problems arise when Hastar wants all of the gold and food in the world, he could satisfy his greed on gold, but gets caught by his other brothers. For protection, he stays on the Womb of his mother itself, but under one condition- No one would worship nor build a shrine for you. Things get creepy when humans build a temple for him, which makes it cursed. The protagonist finds a way to enter the shrine, go into the goddess's womb and extract gold nuggets from Hastar, until greed makes him a victim. Excellent story telling, acting, set and costume designing and cinematography. A milestone for Bollywood cinema! Instead of the cliché horror style, this makes you fear by the sheer storytelling style, not by any jumpscare or such nonsense. Pure directional and storytelling talent!
