Wasn't a fan of Miss Depp's acting, I was quite distracted by her forehead. I thought the count looked too much like Jim Carrey in "A Series of Unfortunate Events." Probably better on the big screen. It seemed to be skimpy on characters and although I'm very familiar with the Dracula story I can't remember when I first saw Nosferatu and wasn't sure how similar the stories are supposed to be. They had a lot in common but I much preferred the more fleshed out story of Bram Stoker's Dracula. I really like Emma Corin and wished she had been playing the lead. Nicholas Hoult was fun to watch but overall...meh.

I don't know much about this historical event which is why I'm not picking apart the historical inaccuracies like many reviewers but I do know a lot about horse drawn vehicles and noticed a few mistakes like driving on the wrong sides of the road and using the wrong type vehicle for the weather and occasion but other than that I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I can't understand why so many people are criticizing the casting. I find it interesting because instead of choosing actors who might "suit" the characters better, they seemed to have purposefully avoided those stereotypes allowing the characters to be much more human and easy to empathize with. Great costumes!! As for the dialogue, once again, it is more contemporary but allows us to relate to the story instead of being distracted but the unfamiliar speech patterns and mid 19th century vocabulary.

Totally stumbled across this not expecting much but despite the low budget look the acting was good with giggle inducing comic absurdity. It was nice to see some actors that are recognizable from the past. I enjoyed the premise, the idea of the audience watching the action unfold slowly at the beginning made me think about how life can be fascinating if you are willing to ask questions and be curious. I noticed a couple of words in the script that seemed more European sounding than American, for instance, the use of "rubbish". One doesn't hear that very often in the States. Good film if you want something to make you giggle!
