So stupid.....just as it starts to get interesting - the movie abruptly ends

For RH fans, this is a must see. I was quite impressed how they used props to make more sense to the opening song. They did not change the dialog or lyrics much, and the music was excellent. Some miscasting I feel, but it was very enjoyable. If you have not seen the original RH, definitely see it first, and just consider this a new or more modern version, and appreciate both for what they are. My main disappointment was not getting to see all the breast flashing and Columbia's nip slip. I even liked the casting of a real transvestite playing the role of a transvestite. Yes, it could have been improved in many ways, but then that is true with most remakes. RHPS is my favorite movie of all time, and even for an amateur RH fan, there is no reason to not see it. Look for ways to appreciate it, not cut it down.

I don't know why most reviewers are hating on this movie. It is not presenting as a true story or as portraying prison reality. For example, I don't think prisons allow several inmates to be in a group shower unsupervised so they can gang up on and beat up one prisoner, and they look much more attractive than average inmates. But the movie does well portray conflicts of morality and criminal violence. This very attractive girl has been raped numerous times in and out of prison and she deals with it with rational self-defense. It is very much like a Lifetime Channel movie without the nudity censored. And I don't think the sex and nudity was gratuitous--it's what life is like for a girl like her in such a situation. I really don't find much fault with the movie. You can watch it for free on IMDb and I liked it so much I copied it to a DVD to watch again whenever I want. One of the best womens prison movies made.
