Primal started off strong - intense, emotional, and raw. It pulled me in with just the visuals and sound, no words needed. A man in a brutal world trying to survive, forming a bond with a dinosaur - it felt pure, grounded, and real. You feel his pain, his rage, and later, the trust he builds. Every episode felt alive.
But then Season 2 shifts - and not slowly. We move from wild creatures and raw fights to Egyptian queens, evolved societies, even mythological gods. It's not that these ideas are bad, but the tone changes so much it starts to feel like a different show. Still, I stayed with it, curious where it was heading.
What really dropped it for me was the final episode. Spear - who always felt indestructible, always healing and moving forward no matter how hurt - suddenly gets killed off. And in the middle of his burns and open wounds, there's a weird sex scene that didn't sit right. It felt disconnected from the character's pain and journey. More symbolic than real. Just didn't feel earned.
That said, I think the creator meant it to be this way. Whether it lands or not, the intention was clear: show the cycle of life, primal instinct, and legacy. I respect that. The series is still brilliant overall - bold in its storytelling, different from anything else out there. It made an impact, even with its stumbles.

Most definitely the best watch ever! The details of the Jackal's character is simply mind-boggling. It keeps you latched onto it, until the end. Inbetween, there are a few scenes where I felt it was going a little slow but I guess that how it's supposed to be to make it brilliant. Eddie's acting is the best part of the entire watch. Somehow, like few other fans mentioned, the female police officer Lashana's character got a little annoying. She didn't seem like the right fit, is it her character that made it annoying or is it the actress? We'll never know. Overall, a masterpiece, a must watch! 100% recommend worthy!
I seriously did not expect to love this movie. I didn't even expect it to be good, I was just giving it a try and I'm actually glad that I did. This was my first japanese movie, and it turned out to be amazing. Although I hoped for a different ending, but the ending in the movie was quite mature. It's a real gem. Loved it till the end. If you're looking for a fun, relaxing, and enjoyable movie them I'd definitely recommend. Also if you're a emotional person, then be ready to cry (it may be a happy cry). Have fun watching the movie.😉👌🏻
