Simply unworthy of consideration. There is nothing here except a high budget student film, which pastes together shallow and undeveloped themed ideas. There are nothing more than journal notations that never got developed into a mature professional script. It's staggering because it's a Francis Ford Coppola project and he's had many, many years to develop this project but ultimately there is no foundation, no inner strength and absolutely no connection with its audience. Sad, stupid and unworthy.
Rather than a demonstration of what cinema can be we get a prime example of banality. An unprovoked banality that nobody asked for.

Wow, a dystopian thriller that actually missed presenting the obvious and best thriller fight sequence, and after setting it up so well, but then nothing. It could have been great, really great, but no. Nothing.
Oh well, mustn't grumble, it's not like this film was actually making that much of an effort to be convincing. The protagonist was presented as a clumsy idiot, stumbling around and generally messing up. Go figure.
I can't say I've ever seen a film with plot holes in it so large and so obvious. Quite bizarre. Who on earth thought this up and who directed it?
The best element was the soundtrack.

Rebecca Hall puts forth a character, someone interesting to watch, she looks great on screen and sounds great. Her character captivates and provides an energy, a flow, a sense of an emotional person right from the beginning. A woman who has become background to her own husband and is in the initial stage of demonstrating she's seriously had enough. It's breakout time.
Her brother-in-law is an insufferable "ape", and his wife is somehow amicably suffering the insufferable ape.
This film goes horribly wrong, like a freeway pile up in slow motion with weird flashbacks that don't register because the main story seriously needs to unfold further before we get into any flashback material.
In addition to Rebecca Hall some other actors are cast, but, well, enough said already.
Don't watch, don't waste your time.
