Brandon Lee's Crow will always be the best one, but give Bill Skarsgard's Crow a chance.
The movie "The Crow" is a remake of the 1994 movie "The Crow" that starred Brandon Lee as the main character Eric Draven. I have to first show my respects to the passing of Brandon Lee, that made a very good movie in the original Crow movie. I get that everyone wants to compare this movie to the original, but they are two completely different movies in the way they want to storytell the comic. Even though I do recommend Brandon Lee's movie more than this one, I wouldn't call this movie terrible or horrible as many people are doing.
The plot in this movie is a bit different especially with its 35 minutes of extra playing time compared to the original. This one does go into a bit more backstory to Eric and to his love partner. And it does give a bit more information to the villain as well. But the plot does feel too slow at times, especially since I was waiting almost 1,5 acts to finally get some action. I liked the whole romance segment of the movie... but it was carried out a bit too long.
The villain was not great in this movie either... I know the whole devil stuff is a high in this movie... But making it into a marvel like movie with a villain that has made a deal with the devil and gained some powers.... just doesn't do it for me.
But when the movie eventually starts showing action it gets very entertaining.
Bill Skarsgaard delivers a very good performance as Eric in this movie. Anything from the action scenes to the more slowly scenes I do believe he did great. His chemistry with actress FKA Twigs as Shelly Webster is definitely visible and great. While villain Danny Huston playing Vincent Roeg also does a great job on a character that ain't that great... but that's not his fault.
The soundtrack is also alright but not as good as the originals. The same goes with costumes and the CGI work was alright for the most part apart from a couple of shots where you could see some bad visuals.
I see Brandon Lee as the Crow like I see Heath Ledger as the Joker... Two actors that played their roles perfectly and sadly died way too soon. But Bill Skarsgaard does give a respectable performance in a mediocre plot. Therefore a final rating of 6/10.

The MaXXXine is another sequel in the franchise. A sequel I didn't even knew was a sequel. But this movie definitely doesn't make me want to watch the earlier movies. After the movie ended I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth of... "What the .... did I just watch?".
The plot is simple... Pornstar wants to do "real" movies... And there's a cult out somewhere that wants to stop this and want to stop horror movies because there is too much nudity in them. But I was never really entertained in the movie apart from a couple of alright scenes with Mia Goth who carried this movie. Anything what the actual "horror" aspect of this movie goes or the action sequences... they ain't spectacular and you can easily see that this was a low budget production that didn't do great. I mostly bored watching this.
The acting on the other hand from Mia Goth was great and is mostly why I'm giving this movie that rating I'm giving it. Great performance from her and that's about it. No real other performances were that great or big too noticeable. It was nice seeing some known faces getting a cameo role in this movie like: Kevin Bacon, Lily Collins, Bobby Cannavale and Giancarlo Esposito. But none of them made enough of an impact for me. The closest one was probably Giancarlo Esposito, who was pretty funny in this movie.
Everything else don't really matter since there wasn't any good CGI or something in between. Maybe a good soundtrack but that is about it.

The movie "Unicorns" is the love story between two people of the same gender. The leads of Ben Hardy as Luke and Jason Patel as Aysha, is not a bad choice of casting from the casting crew. Though the movie falls short in story telling and eventually just falls down to almost a flatline.
The plot is nothing out of the ordinary. Yeah sure, it's about a guy falling in love with a girl, who (surprise surprise) ain't a girl but actually a dude dressed as a girl. But it's more about what the movie tries to tell about the modern norms about genders and the whole LGBTQ community as a whole. The movie does though only focus about the "drag-queen" part of the community. So for what it tries to tell it gets a thumbs up from me... But the movie does feel a bit predictable after the first act.
From what goes about the acting and characters in the movie is something else. I personally think that Jason Patel, who plays the main "drag-queen" Aysha, did do a great job in this movie. The same goes for Ben Hardy, but not to the same levels I've seen him in a movie like "Bohemian Rhapsody". The side characters aren't really in the picture hence they don't really make a big performance enough, they are just there...
Cinematography was pretty good with some very good shots of wilderness and inside the different scenes. The same goes with the music chosen for the different scenes that just matches the setting that we are watching.
Apart from all this... The degrading in rating is mostly based on the plot going a bit downhill after the first act. Therefore I give "Unicorns" a respectable rating of 6/10.
