I am from that part of the world but even so, Coronation Street is a British cultural institution. I can only imagine that the low score is down to the show today and its storylines but for the first 40 years it was the soap of the nation.
And though it is a soap, it could also be classed as one of the finest comedies that has ever graced British TV, the comedy doubles just keep coming - Bet and Alec, Stan and Hilda, Jack and Vera, Fred and Ashley, Rita and Mavis as well as the stalwarts of the show such as Ena Sharples, Fred Gee, Eddie Yeats, Betty Turpin etc because I could be all day naming them but the comic timing and lines from these actors could rival any British comedy of the day.
If you were around in 1981, you will remember when Ken Barlow chinned Mike Baldwin over his affair with Deidre an it gripped the nation! Will an expected storyline ever do that again? I doubt it.

Excellent song, better video, shot in Colombia and has a mariachi band playing (a Colombian mariachi band no less) and a Welsh harp in the middle of Bogota.
What is the meaning behind the video? Well, we don't really know, nor does Gruff Rhys! He and the rest of the band just thought it would be great to shoot the video in Colombia.
IMDB want a minimum word count for what is a five minute video so all I can say is watch the video and listen to the song, you will be able to catch on YouTube and you will be getting not only Welsh culture but also Colombian culture (with a bit of Mexican thrown in there) and it meshes really well, so yeah, a ten and give it a go! It comes with my full recommendation (video and song...)

I like the actors in question and am a massive fan of Danny Dyer but why not get some Welsh actors? There are loads of young Welsh actors who could have played convincing druggies doing a wild night out in Cardiff!
I haven't rated it because when I heard not one Cardiff accent amongst the lot of them I just switched it off. Now, that's not to say it's a bad film, I am sure it's not, I am sure plenty of folk can get around the fact it's a Welsh film full of English actors but not me.
They could have set this in Manchester and they would have hit the zeitgeist of the time and party culture just as well because even around that time - Manchester was a party city and John Simm could have kept his natural accent so win-win but never mind.
