By the end of the film, you can tell they really thought they did something. Credit to the stacked cast with great acting skills, but wow - what year was this written? It felt like an early 2000s episode of CSI, except with awful pacing making you constantly question the script. Pacing and depth aside, references to gangs and crews was almost laughably cringe with statements like "... when he got inked." The 2000s called and they want better pacing for a movie with this much potential. If the cast wasn't what it is, this film would easily be a 4/10, but they saved it. I wouldn't recommend it, but I wouldn't exactly stay fans of the genre away from it .. just don't expect much.

An Incredibly human take when something inhuman takes over and causes havoc. Where others of similar genres only follow cliches, When Evil Lurks adds elements surrounding them that shake your senses and make it feel like a new genre entirely.

While you gain a sense of what's going on pretty quick, you still follow the remainder of the movie with fear, dread and curiosity.

The acting didn't disappoint and the chemistry between actors lead to a lot of suspenseful, as well as curious, moments. The connection each of them had to each-other felt authentic, leading the story to feel even deeper and more traumatic.

This movie did not disappoint in originality and suspense. While I wouldn't classify this as horror, it's incredibly suspenseful and has a plot unlike anything I've seen in a while.

For a movie barely heard of and only 90 minutes in length, it's loaded with incredible plot devices and excellent acting from the cast. Where a lot of thrillers fall short, this one is exceeded my expectations when it came to the casting.

You truly feel the emotions and the primal energy associated with what they're going through. While few of us have ever had to hunt for food, this movie encapsulates the stress of primal survival all too well.
