Polizeiinspektion 1 - An entertaining German Police Drama that involves a small group of policemen from a station in Munich Germany. Each episode, which is just under 25 minutes long, deals with mostly the small criminal elements that are in the area of the station and with small minor crimes that happen to everyday people. The stories are mostly plot driven with little action sequences. However, just because the series isn't inundated with car chases and intense violence does not mean it is not good. The series does have some comedic dialogue added at times to give the characters flavor and the stories also delves into the officers personal lives to get the viewers more involved in the characters. As for the setting of the series, I have been to Munich and this show offers some very nice shots of the town of Munich as well as some famous landmarks such as the "Glockenspiel" at Marienplatz and the world famed "Hofbräuhaus". Unfortunately it is only offered on DVD in only German Language with no English subtitles. However, the spoken German used in the series is easily interpreted and makes it easy for second language persons to understand and follow the plots. All in all, I enjoyed it and would definitely give it 7 out of 10 stars.
My brother and I watched this movie many, many years ago and although it is not going to win any Academy Award, we both thought it was an extremely funny and entertaining movie. The fact that many of the characters were actors from the "Hogan's Heroes" series just added to the fun. Bob Crane, Werner Klemperer, John Banner, Leon Askin showed that they could once again act together to provide an hilarious set of circumstances that just keeps you laughing. "The Wicked Dreams of Paula Schultz" in my opinion has a fast paced comedy feel that is reminiscent of the James Cagney movie "One, Two' Three." I wish that there was enough interest to get this movie transferred to DVD because it is worth a watch. Not to mention that Elke Summer isn't bad to look at either.
