I only saw episode 1 of this series, so my review is for it alone.
I liked the T&H movie with Tom Hanks a lot, bot I didn't expect much from a rehash of the movie into a series. The series is quite obviously meant for younger audiences, but that doesn't mean an old geezer like me cannot enjoy it. Yes special effects are on the suspect side, but it's the plot with it's human interactions that matter. The reviewers that complain about such trivial things are missing the point of this episode. It was nice to fill in the missing years after the movie, so we know immediately where we are in the series time and space. I will sum the episode with the words VERY CUTE.
I know that children will love the series, and I'm sure most adults will like too.

The Jungle Book of 1967 version is my all time favorite Disney movie. The Music is sublime and the story is so funny and engaging. Until this movie came my favorite was The Lady and The Tramp, which I still adore. The time between The Jungle Book and mid 90s was kinda meh. I still loved the movies but none stood out. Thankfully mid 90s came and returned Disney to its glory years. "I wanna be like you" with the great Louis Prima and Phil Harris is one of the funniest and most fetching songs in movie history! The voice actors are perfectly matched to the animals. This movie is perfection! If you haven't seen this movie; watch it! It's a must.
I was never a great fan of Shazam when it ran on tv. I watched it sporadically but was never was attached to it like I did to Spider-Man.
I went to the movie with some trepidation but came away very satisfied with what I have just seen. I see some reviews that give this movie a 1 or a 2 stars!!!
How can that be? We had to watch entirely different movie. Even if a viewer is a child hater there are still many things to like in the movie. I thought that Mr. Levy did a great job bringing out the 14 year old Billy Baston within him. And how can someone not like the sarcastic Freddy who basically becomes his coach and mentor. The movie is funny all the way through and is in contrast to the dark undertone that DC movie universe maintains. I gave it "only" an 8 since a 10 is a masterpiece and a 9 is a bit below. A 1 is reserved for a movie without any value whatsoever. People keep giving it to movies willy nilly just because they were disappointed with it. You don't like a movie give it a 3 or a 4. A reviewer should be just as stingy with their high ratings as their low ones.
