This movie looks, sounds and feels like a disney channel movie but not even slightly funny. Everything in it, is just bad, the acting, the pacing, the plot, the ending, everything. I knew I was gonna watch something very similar to "totally killer" "freaky" or "happy death day" (all movies that I enjoyed), but I definitely wasn't expecting such a catastrophe.
The main character is dull and boring and her acting is awful, we don't know anything about her relationship with her parents or friends or anyone. Then, she travels to the past and we don't know anything about those characters either. Her relationship with those characters means nothing, the dialogues are unrealistic and extremely not funny or entertaining and everyone lacks common sense. The characters that die, give some of the absolute worst performances I've seen in decades. The only 4 deaths in the entire movie are almost off screen deaths, the "chase" scenes are neither tense nor thrilling, the "big reveal" of the killer isn't surprising and it makes no sense at all, the killer's motives for becoming a killer are thw stupidest I've ever heard and the ending had me in tears, but tears of rage, rage for wasting my free time watching this garbage.
Who green lit this? Who thought it was a good idea to copy every single aspect of a movie that came out a year ago and re do it, but in a poor, sloppy and tv-ish way? This is the worst movie I've seen this year, I can't think about one single good aspect about it, I would never recommend it and I'm just begging the lord, to please extend whatever amount of time I have left on earth, by 90 mins, bc I really need those minutes back.

I'm not a fan of Netflix Latinoamérica productions because they always end up disappointing me, and this was no exception. I'm Colombian and since this show happens to have in its cast, 2 Colombian actors that I used to love as a teenager, I decided to check it and I regret every minute of it. Even though my expectations couldn't have possibly been lower, this show still found a way to make me feel disappointed and embarrassed about the quality of Latinamerican shows. This was bad in ways i didn't know it could be bad.
What started as and what I thought was gonna be an adult drama, gets so stretched and confusing and convoluted that it very quickly turns into a poorly made telenovela, but also a bad action series and also a basic teenage drama with teenage characters and teenager music. This was the definition of "everything, everywhere (and everyone) all at once". It was everyone against everyone, going from 0 to 100 every other minute, for no absolutely no reason. There's too many storylines that get intertwined but in the most forced and unrealistic ways possible. Nothing felt natural, nothing felt believable. It felt like every episode was written by a big group of complete strangers who were brainstorming, and then each episode got directed by an entirely different group of other strangers who kept brainstorming some more. The acting is bad, the writing is atrocious, the music is absolutely awful and the editing is diabolical.
Many lines delivered by various characters in what were supposed to be tense moments, ended up genuinely making me crack up in laughter or making me cringe so bad that I literally covered my face. The use of music was excessive in every scene, there were very few seconds of silence in each episode and the genre and song choices always felt wrong, awkward and cringey. But the editing, that was definitely the worst part of this experience. It felt like it was edited by 20 different people who never actually met, discussed or communicated with each other at all. Entire scenes and potential dramatic moments got cut very abruptly and followed by scenes that completely killed the vibe or they would use a lot of "gossip girl" kinda music on scenes that were supposed to be serious and tense.
This could and should have been maximum 6 episodes long, but for reasons beyond my comprehension, it's 10. There were 3 performances though, that stood out in a positive way for me, specially the 2 protagonists and another female character from the supporting cast. They were not consistently amazing, but they did deliver several dramatic moments that felt genuine and believable . But aside from that, everything else was absolutely horrible. I do not recommend it and if anyone is reading this, please trust me, do not waste hours of your life watching this catastrophe.

I was trying not to get my hopes too high for this film, because I had them extremely high when "Covenant" came out and I didn't like it that much, but this film definitely exceeded my expectations.
I loved the pacing, I loved the music, I loved the attention to detail and the great effort they put into making all the costume and production design, props etc. Look like the first 2 movies, (since this one takes place between those 2), unlike "Prometheus", which by the way, was my favorite installment until today and which even though is a prequel that takes place like 30 years BEFORE the first "Alien", everything in it, makes it look like it takes place hundreds of years after the first one. I loved that the characters felt like real people with whom you can relate and empathize and actually understand the reason why they embark on this deadly mission. But most of all, I loved the acting, specially Cailee Spaney's performance. This is the 3rd production in which I see her, and her acting just feels so honest, genuine and natural. I just believe every emotion she's transmitting and she makes any situation seem believable.
The only negative thing about the film for me, is the fact that it's a prequel. I wish they had just made a continuation of the franchise as Sigourney Weaver left it, rather than a prequel. I wish they had done with it what it's being done with the "Scream" franchise, in which they're continuing the story with new characters but still keeping the tone and much of the original material. Where does this endless need for prequels and prequels of sequels and origin stories come from? I just don't get it. And the fact that this story takes place before "Aliens", keeps me from giving it a 10, because, even though I loved the entire thing and its ending, knowing that what comes after it is my least movie of the entire franchise and possibly one of my most hated movies of all time, kind of takes the fun out of it. But it's definitely in my list of favorite movies of this year, I would definitely recommend it and absolutely watch it again.
