Some people question why the characters have Scottish accents, but it makes sense that they do. This series is set on a (fictional) island to the north of what is now Scotland. The Norwegians settled on those islands and their people married into the clans there. Therefore, it would make sense for the characters to have Scottish accents yet share aspects of Norwegian culture. The author of the books has also stated her ancestors are from that area, and that's why she chose to write a series about them.

Anyways, the movie itself is lighthearted and great entertainment for the whole family. Toothless is hilarious.

This is a great podcast. The stories are chilling and thought-provoking. The narrator has a calm, easy to listen to voice. One thing that could be improved upon are the voices of the contributors to the archives. Each story is supposed to come from a different person, all narrated by the same narrator, but they sound like they were all written by the same person. Perhaps some differences in speech patterns could be added in to make them sound like they're all different people. I'm still less than 10 episodes in, so perhaps that's something they'll adjust later on. But so far, great start and I'm looking forward to more.

I'd highly recommend this podcast for fans of high/dark/epic fantasy. The protagonist is quite feisty and it's easy to get caught up in her adventures as she encounters other races and learns to control her power. There's plenty of action as well as a good amount of comedy. Great representation too, but in a natural and not at all overdone way. The voice actors are so talented. You can tell a lot of passion went into this story from all involved. I was worried at first that I wouldn't be able to visualize what was happening well enough, due to this being only audio and without dialogue tags like a book would have, but it was actually really easy to follow due to the excellent script and sound effects. Can't wait for more!
