Cesar Chavez is portrayed as this hero of the Latino community and especially farm workers. His portrayal here is one sided. He only cared about agricultural workers who were documented and weren't "wet b*cks." Listen to his original video interviews. He's one of those "I got mine, you get yours" Latinos and shows no empathy toward the immigrants who undoubtedly work most of what he was gaining for. This is just another sugar-coated movie to make a horrible, self-hating Latino more pleasant and appreciated by a big audience. Look it up. Cesar Chavez was not a good person to the actual workers in the fields. If you want a real agricultural hero. Look up Dolores Huerta.
I watched like 8 episodes of this and I thought I was going crazy how the retired LA Sheriff kept saying the word naked. She says it every time! The stories are pretty interesting, I just wish they gave them more time and got into more detail. The commentary is pretty annoying and judgmental. At one point, one of them says this is the most vile thing a person can do. I can think of other things that are worse than a hot guy in your backyard. I'm a true crime fan, but I'd skip this show. Purely because of the commentary and lack of depth. There are better shows out there. It kind of cheapens the stories.
But I can't stand Christine's voice and I get it. She might have a medical issue but every time she's on screen it's like nails on chalkboard. Also, everyone talks as if they're reading cue cards. And stop bringing up the Golden State killer. And why is there a long requirement to post something on this site. I love cheese and bread. I'm just trying to make the minimal requirements of this review. All M&Ms taste the same despite the color. Omg I still have 150 characters to post. Any whomst. Um this show is horrible but not as horrible as the requirements to post a review on this site. FA la la?
