Definitely one of the best films of the 1970's! My favorite character is the Doreen, played with finesse by Denny Dillon (remember Toby from HBO's "Dream On"?) Although she only gets about one minute of screen time, her line is probably my favorite in the entire film:
"Tony, can I wipe off your forehead?"
Go out and rent this one!!! Don't forget your Billy Beer!!!

I just recently saw Tenebre a couple of weeks ago. It was a fairly good film, considering when and where it was made. The acting was pretty lame, but the direction and overall style of the film is pretty well-done. I enjoy the outside shot of the two victims' house.
The gore is pretty graphic in one death scene towards the end of the film. This was pretty much the scariest scene in the entire film. Possible result: This could have been the scariest film ever, with a little more effort Actual result: A fairly decent Italian giallo shocker.

I saw the film in theaters back in 1982 and at the time it was a very spooky film. It has definitely lost its scare value, but hasn't lost its power to entertain. One of the great films of the genre. Spielberg should have held claims as director to this movie and it would have been as big as E.T. was at the time.
