The Assessment is a sci-fi thriller/drama starting Alicia Vikander, Elizabeth Olsen, and Himesh Patel.

I love sci-fi. Especially alternative sci-fi such as this; sci-fi that tries to do something new. But my hopes were ultimately let down.

I once heard it said, "Just because you can make a 2 hour movie, doesn't mean you should." And that sums up the entirety of my feelings toward this film.

It's unnecessarily long. It's boring. It tries to be complex and artistic but ends up leaving a lot to be desired. It's torture to sit through and watch.

The main characters are treated horribly throughout this story, but I don't really feel bad for any of them because, frankly, I'm just not invested. We get very basic information about our characters and are supposed to care for them, but all I see of them are their flaws, their nasty qualities that are being brought out during the test they're undergoing, and it makes me dislike them more than like them.

I don't care about the world, because it's not built very well. We also get basic information about it, but it's never explored, even though there's a lot to explore. It's done purposefully, I think, to leave us with a sense of curiosity and longing for more, but I don't want to know more because of how the story and world are presented.

It's also one of those stories where (much like the sequel to Doctor Strange) the main characters we're looking at, are actually not the main characters at all. It's another person's story, and we're supposed to feel bad for them? Sorry, once again, I'm not invested and don't care, and you cannot make me care for someone whose life story is spilled out in 2 minutes during the "big reveal."

The acting is done quite well, but that is probably one of my only compliments toward this disaster, and I really wish I had better things to say about it because it does seem like a cool, sci-fi thriller.

I wouldn't recommend this much to anyone. It's, unfortunately, just not very good.

I was a fan of the first movie. Was it perfect? Absolutely not, but it was enjoyable enough to see with friends.

But this movie? It's stupid. In the best way.

Megan 2.0 is a good movie. It doesn't take itself seriously, and doesn't make itself so complicated that it ruins the fun. The plot is easy to follow, and although, yes, it does have many, many flaws, you can tell that it's just a movie for you to enjoy and turn your brain off to.

The cinematography and choreography is probably my favorite thing about this flick. There were some camera shots that made me get into it a little more, and the action is pretty neat too.

At its modest runtime, it drags some things out, but not to the point where it overstays its welcome. Again, I didn't take it too seriously because it's not meant to be so.

Me and my buddy had a great time, laughing at how ridiculous the movie was, and how different it was from the first movie. I'd recommend you go see it with friends. It's a good trip to the movies, especially if you're needing a laugh.
