Season 1-5 were practically perfect. Appointment viewing television. Many great iconic moments that will be shown as TV history than the writers, producers, directors gave up or ran out of ideas. Season 6 and 7 was serviceable, not outright bad like season 8. By the final season everything felt so rushed and nonsensical. The dip in quality from the writing and directing stand point is so noticeable. The ending is unjustifiable, All of the characters were wasted in my opinion even if you were on Team Stark. Overall I give the show a 7/10 just because of the first five seasons. The acting and characters of the core in the show remain some of my favorites on television. Especially Daenerys, Tyrion and Cersei. Despite the ending I will never forgive everyone should watch and experience the show at least once.

The story does an excellent job at creating a tension and capturing the atmosphere of hectic fast paced, the stress of making sure everything is done correctly, as well as working within the hierarchy of a business while dealing with your own personal problems. The issues that arise from people not doing what they are supposed to be doing or people taking advantage of their positions to mistreat lower employees. Ultimately it tells a cautionary tale about working too hard at the expense of your personal life and relationships.

The performances by the cast was excellent. Everyone played their role well especially Burak Deniz. But the story otherwise was very thin and sometimes boring and I think that could be the product of the one take no cuts model.

No matter the years that pass Vampire Diaries remain class and timeless. The first 2 seasons is simply flawless with many twists, shocking deaths, mythology explained, curses, hookups, etc.... a very exciting and watchable television show that is immensely helped by the beauty factor of eveyone involved. The main 3 of Elena, Daman and Stefan are actually impressive Actors as well. I love how the relationship of the three progresses and the main end game couple is still one of my favorite couples of all time. Damon Elena Stefan remain one of the most iconic triangles in the history of television.
