Well, already gave season 1 a most glorious 1 out of 10 rating, and honestly if I could go any lower than I surely would for season 2. What an absolute drab! Agree with some that the backgrounds and sets are still wonderfully created, but the cast is unbelievably dull and boring and shows zero passion for the story that's being created, or at least, someone is trying to create, without much success that is. Can't point to a single actor that actually has some charisma, not even the Doctor himself... keep asking myself when he will pull that sonic screwdriver out. Whoever thought of casting the Doctor... what a horrible decision! Anyways, watched the start of season 2 and have no idea what the story is about anymore or what the actors are actually doing. The series has been ruined beyond salvation. It has become a true "Game of Tragedy".
Watched this movie this morning trying not to think of the enormous gum infection my dentist caused last week. So much for doing your annual clean-ups. Anyways, initially I thought I was watching another great Ghibli movie, but then noticed the weird names and the costumes which didn't fit the typical Asian trademark. Quickly felt that Indian culture influence, and yeah... Pakistan/Karachi, not too far off then - also explains the great colour choices. The movie is beautifully made with an awesome cast of characters, colours, drama, music, backdrops (mattes) etc. The first hour I most definitely felt scoring this movie a 10/10, another perfect score. Not a 'War and Peace', but a 'War and Art' movie. Or maybe it should be 'The Art of War'. Unfortunately, the end of this movie felt like the producers had run out of budget and were forced to a quick ending to this masterpiece. Felt like there was at least 30 minutes missing which would have made this a perfect movie. It's sad, because I ended it up scoring it a 6 out of 10, and that's only because of the rushed and very unsatisfying ending. So yeah, think ultimately, the budget was an issue, but have high hopes seeing further productions coming from Mano Animations. The talent is most definitely there.
Absolutely mindboggling! Would have given it a 10/10 if it wasn't for the fact that there were no subtitles, and the sound was pretty bad in the first two seasons. The sound in the later seasons was okay, still not great though. The whole idea for this series is simply brilliant, trying to show whether or not people coming from different backgrounds (upper, middle, and lower) have different opportunities in life. It's amazing seeing some of the choices people are making in their lives, and how it affects them. Do think that many of the questions were sometimes a bit too leading and could have been kept more neutral. Clearly, stating a question in a positive or negative way immediately affects the mindset of the interviewee. Still have the final two seasons to watch (42 and 49), but clearly rate this series as genius, not unlike "Die Zweite Heimat". Hope this series gets repeated at least once a century, as it tells so much about human development. So yes, definitely a must see.
