Damn this movie was so good! Talk to Me seriously sets up an uneasy environment from the get-go and doesn't stop until the credits roll. Sad it took me this long to finally watch it, despite having the dvd since its release, but wow, I love it! It deals with grief and uncertainty in such a deep manner that the scares, of which there are pleanty, are just the icing on the cake. I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just talk about the technical stuff. The acting was fantastic, especially the lead. She's spectacular, and I hope to see more of her in the future. The effects were very well done, the scares were solid, and the soundtrack and sound design were just perfect. Overall, it is a great deep dive into deep emotions where ghosts aren't the only thing that haunt.
Watched this last night, and, well, I'm just glad Jennifer Garner is in a point in her career where she can just take it easy. The Family Switch was an incredibly silly family flick that you can watch with your kids. Ed Helms and Emma Myers are the other notable cast members I can recall, and everyone was fine in this over the top body switching comedy that also loosly takes place around Christmas. Almoat one giant trope and unimaginative in every way. Overall, Yes Day felt like the better family movie staring Jennifer Garner and someone from Wednesday, but if you're into silly rompers like Cheaper by the Dozen or Are We There Yet, this is for you.
