I wasn't going to watch this show because I thought the premise was silly, but I read the reviews here and decided to give it a chance. I don't think I've ever hated something so much, however, I'll start with what I liked about the show. I liked the stories about how the guests ended up at the hotel. Nothing else. Nothing happens, it's impossible for anyone to give spoilers to this show because nothing happen. Nothing at all. The scenes are so long winded I'd actually forget what they had said by the time the next line was delivered. If the nonsense was taken out, this show could easily have been a movie instead of 24 hours long. I honestly don't understand why the others here liked this show because it just so so so incredibly bad. I'm legitimately disappointed to have watched this. It is so bad that I likely will never use this platform for kdrama reviews again. I'm sitting through the last episode of this insult to the small screen, WAITING FOR SOMETHING TO FINALLY HAPPEN, but it can't be over soon enough.
Overall I liked the show, but unfortunately, as this was my first experience with the characters, having never read the manga or watched it, I felt it was severely lacking in character development. I could see how an avid fan might be a much bigger fan of the live action version but for me, when it came to the last episode I couldn't understand their emotions or drive and wasn't really invested. Generally I'm the that is completely taken over emotionally from stories like this but it just wasn't happening. Like I said before though, it was good, I did enjoy it, I wouldn't tell anyone it's not worth a watch, but maybe read the manga or watch the animated version before this one for more context on the backstory.
Everything about this movie was awesome and empowering and puts into words what so many of us have felt but never knew how to say. It was touching and really got me feeling the sisterhood. The unfortunate part about this movie is at the end, when the girls are sharing their moments of participation in the feminist movement at their school. One of the gags throughout the film was the injury of another student, and one girl admits she was the one to do it, followed by "that's feminism right there, and I do not feel bad about it. Moxie forever." And the crowd cheers. Considering why they were all gathered there in the first place, a physical assault on another person isn't something that should be celebrated or tolerated as a feminist.
