YUCK. This movie was soooooooo fake, totally untrue. I've read all of her Little House books and several biographies. None of them give me the impression that the real Laura was in any way like this fictional Laura. Meredith Monroe was so annoying, sniping, and so plainly terrible. I cannot stand her even on Dawson's Creek. Richard Thomas was the only halfway believable character. Sigh...... Needless to say, I was disappointed! Both thumbs down and would not in any way recommend this to ANYONE!!!!!
I know, I know, it's NOT a sequel to Pretty Woman, but it uses the chemistry between Richard Gere and Julia Roberts in it. It was VERY disappointing. Not what I wanted to see, and I am sure a lot of people will agree with me. The comedy was lighthearted, but too frivolous at times, and the ending was not as good as I wanted it to be. Heck, I could have directed it better! NO offense to Garry Marshall, but I believe you blooped on this movie. ARGH! Please make another movie with Richard and Julia, and do it RIGHT like Pretty Woman! At least watch this movie once, so you get an idea of why it is so disappointing.
Sigh...... This is one of the sweetest movies I have ever seen. It always leaves me feeling romantic and wistful for a Prince Charming of my own. I love timeless romances such as the Princess Bride, and Drew Barrymore is great as Danielle. Dougray Scott is very handsome as Henry, too. It is an excellent combination of old-fashionedness and modern culture, which is just what I like. All the puns, jokes, and funny extras certainly make the movie more interesting. Only complaint is that the character of Leonardo da Vinci is too fake. He was too jubilant and cheery, when in reality he was a very quiet, subdued person. I highly recommend this movie.
