Life With Father is one of my favorite movies. How could you possibly go wrong with two legends of the Silver Screen, William Powell and Irene Dunn, and the wonderful ZaSu Pitts! I love everything about this movie...the time period of the early 1900's New York, the sets and costumes, the interweaving story lines, the acting, the charm and sweetness...I wish this movie could have had a sequel...William Powell and Irene Dunn are absolutely brilliant in this movie. Thank you Clarence Day, Jr. for sharing this wonderful story...
This movie is one of my favorites too! I love visiting the time period (1920's) and Jeanne Crain is perfect in the role. I wish this movie would be released on video as I don't get to see it very often. In fact, I've only seen it twice but fell in love with it and have never forgotten how wonderful it is!
The Women is one of my all-time favorite movies. Not only is it witty but is wonderfully entertaining. Not many movies have brought so many of the great classic film actresses together. Every part, no matter how big or small, was integral to the movie. I'm reminded of a comment Crawford made when she was considering taking the role of Crystal. Her desire to play this part was looked down upon my many. It was felt that Crystal was too small a part for an actress of her stature, and she would play the bad girl against perennial good girl, Norma Shearer. Crawford's comment to the criticism: "I would play Wallace Beery's mother if it was a good part!" Wonderful, wonderful movie...
