Note de Trav-4
I've seen Merlin twice now: once on TV when it originally aired as a 2 part mini-series, and a second time on the DVD I recently purchased. I must admit it was very pleasurable watching the movie without commercials!
I consider Merlin to be one of the greatest TV movies I have seen, even surpassing most theatrical movies as well. I especially liked the camera angles and intriguing scene changes. The story is captivating and blends many different version of the legend.

After reading very negative reviews and seeing the movie flop at the box office, I must admit I was not too excited about seeing this movie.
However, I thoroughly enjoyed "The Postman"! It was a refreshing movie with a great theme. It starts off a bit slow and I really didn't know how to take it at first, but by the movie's end, I was moved and entertained.
It's ironic that Kostner's "Waterword" involved the future where global warming caused the disaster. Whereas, this movie involved the future where an assumed nuclear war caused the disaster. Both films were heavily criticized, and I have greatly enjoyed both.... go figure!
