Yep, this was painfully bad. The story was so incredibly lazy. Using every cliche in the book. It was almost insulting to watch.
The predictable villain. The incompetent experts. The buffoon family. The sex symbol not suited to the role. The museum geek. The unfunny one liners. The non sensical decision making. The cheap CGI.
For a film with such a high budget, this was really cheap. I have absolutely no idea why they made it. It added nothing new.
Made for those with low threshold for quality and thinking. Very disappointing 💩

I like Jason as an actor. He hit the scene with a splash. But he is the modern day Steven Segal, churning out copy and paste carbon copy garbage just for easy cash. This movie is painfully bad, but it does what he always does. He appeals to drunk teen males who love a good fight film.
The story is awful, the lazy scenes are a plenty and the dialogue is amateur. A dumb film to its core. But it looks good. Rich in colour, glossy and Hollywood. But that's just not good enough now we can do the same in our bedrooms.
I'm not sure how they can act in this without feeling shame for their craft. But then I remember the power of money, and it all makes sense. It's just a pity these actors sold out.
The more I watched it the more insulted I got. Glossy rubbish. Please Jason, stop! Go back to acting. You have enough money now. Wake up and start using those skills you showed us. Stop this lazy bubble gum rubbish.
Not recommended. It is lazy rubbish.

It is almost like they either didn't watch the first one or had absolutely no clue why the first one was a success. This one is simply a mess. Like a barrel full of clips, stirred up, then spewed out onto a timeline.
I tried to make sense of it but things just happened for the sake of it. All your cliche clips but none of the suspense or mystery that featured in the first film. They clearly favoured the comedy over substance this time around. Some was funny. Yep. But I didn't come for funny.
There were a lot of characters in this one. But they were all revolving around an illogical storyline. Nothing made sense. Everything they were trying to prevent was being made 20 times worse by them doing something. It was stupid.
With the end action being the perfect example. The bus and the kids and the baddies. The main baddie didn't want to be linked. So he told his hitman to do the very thing that would link him. With a hitman prioritising the task over self survival, for no good reason. All whilst the baddies showed off their Stormtrooper level of accuracy.
All carried out with the cliche 'tech wizards' who can do literally anything as long as we believe they can. Making plot holes very easy to fill.
This is an action film. For that alone it succeeds. But it is not a sequel. No way. Using the title 'The Accountant' is an insulting cheat.
But it will entertain on a rainy Sunday afternoon...
