This documentary is obviously the work of a man who feels passionately about his subject. I just wish that he had the discipline to go along with the passion. For instance, Moore compares the number of gun deaths per year in the USA and Canada. The US figure is far higher. However, Moore fails to consider that the USA also has a far higher population than Canada, or to look at the total deaths irrespective of weapon. So his figures don't even prove that the USA is a more dangerous place to live than Canada.
I am a neutral on the subject of gun ownership and was looking forward to some interesting arguments. While there were some interesting moments -- for example, an interview where Charlton Heston seems to blame violence on racial diversity -- I wish that they had been connected together to make a more coherent whole. As it is, I left the theater wondering why Moore doesn't just move to Canada, since he seems to prefer it so much to the USA.
