I suppose having Rihanna as a main character should have tipped me off that there would be a lot of dance numbers and random songs, but... it was also jarring to have "real" scenes thrown in, but really only for a backdrop for the smurfs to run through, not in any attempt to interact with characters there. Just CGI the whole thing if you aren't going to actually use the real world scenes for anything. In fact I think the only real world character that talked wore a helmet with tinted face screen.
As for the plot... it was okay. Not expecting much from a smurfs movie and it delivered. I think the best part of the movie was Joel the evil wizards top henchmen.
If you have a kid they will likely enjoy it, check your brain at the door and prepare for odd juxtaposition and you'll be ok.

I enjoyed the first accountant movie, this one not so much. I think the charm of the first movie is that Ben Affleck's character was a convincing forensic accountant, due in no insignificant part because of his autism. Then the script flipped and lo and behold he is deadly.
In this movie, he is just an autistic gun for hire, with a hitman brother. Well, maybe not "just" a gun for hire, but basically they had to tack a scene on at the beginning of the movie to show his brain part.
I get it, they want to show autism isn't a totally debilitating thing, and that there are advantages from the way the brain of an autistic person works. But they don't all have superpowers.
Actually, I thought the best part of the movie was Jon Bernthal's character Braxton (Affleck's brother). The most interesting part was Braxton dealing with the autism. The frustration, the doubt, the pride, the anger, it all comes out and Jon does an excellent job.
Even the action sequences were a bit of a let down in this one.
Is it worth watching? There were good things about it, and it is watchable, but it could have been a lot better.

It is nearly impossible not to compare this to Die Hard. Both are set in a high rise, taken over during a party. The police can't come in because the building is too secure, so it is down to a lone wolf...
Daisy does a pretty good job in this. But she is dealing with a discount Die Hard that also wants to preach environmentalism. Also instead of a wife to save, she has to save her autistic brother who is trapped in the building too.
The movie is definitely watchable, but it tries too hard (and generally fails) in some parts and not hard enough in others. For instance the autistic brother is obviously a hacking savant (because isn't autism the new superpower), and surprisingly functional (mostly, because it is a very uneven portrayal). Anyway, pop some corn and watch for a bit of fun, but don't expect a lot.
