I watched "Holy Land" (first time, on DVD). Enjoyed it. Watched "Leaving Las Vegas" couple of days later (first time, on DVD). And realized there is something in common. To avoid spoilers I will not specify similarities, but invite you to take a look and think for yourself whether you agree or disagree with me.
I liked "Holy Land" (8/10). Pace is generally good. It is slow in comparison with action, but, well, it is not action. Director is not insulting intelligence of viewers by explaining things too much, and I believe there are certain things (like true feelings of Sasha, for example) that you can only guess. Story grows like a tree, not telephone pole, with many branches going nowhere, adding credibility (Hints of Mike's life and current business, for example).
Finally, I want to notice, that movie set in Israel.

Simple at first sight and entertaining story. Characters are shown very well: actors are very convincing and you can see the change of people over very limited time. Everybody is "good". Conflict arising between different understanding of the meaning of being "good": should you follow your way only or should try to adjust to others. Is this question important in comparison with love? I would definitely try to see it again: to understand better.
It is one of my favorite movies and definitely "must see" for all rock fans.
First I listened to album, and movie seems for me to be video to album. But as "the Wall" (album) is not merely a collection of songs - "the Wall" (movie) is not usual video. I would not recommend this movie if you want to have simple, pleasant time.It is not simple movie, at least for me. It is also rather sad. But if you have some time to listen you with high probability will enjoy this very good music supported by picture with challenging questions about life - life on the scene.
