... but I'm out after 2.5 episodes. Sooooooooo bored!!!!!!!!
Don't yet understand why we need this. All That Jazz is the same thing from the horse's mouth. Plus it won 4 Academy Awards and is astonishing to watch.
(This is based on watching just the first epi. If my opinion changes. Stay tuned.)
***************************************************************************************II have given this an 8 after an original 4.
The answer to the question posed in my review is NO!!!!!
This was a wonderful character study of two artists who were equally matched in drive, ambition and talent. She was the muse and embodiment of what he conceived in his mind and spirit for his style of dance. A perfect set up for the drama of their lives both together and apart. They both share trying childhoods which set them up for their later attraction and conflicts.
Sam Rockwell as Bob Fosse was amazing to me. His dancing was very well done, although the dancing is not the main focus here. Michelle Williams was very convincing as Gwen Verdon. Her voice and demeanor were spot on. I enjoyed her performance more and more as the series progressed. It seemed to me that she was required to dance less than Mr. Rockwell. Nevertheless, their recreation of one of the most iconic dances the famed pair performed was exceedingly well done for2 folks who aren't trained dancers. Kudos to you both for going for it!!
I recommend this for fans of biography, those who like dance and dance history and excellent acting.
This is not a story about dance; it is a story about two people.

Sure its innane but must we be subjected to the sexist leerings of men who only watch the lifetime channel for hot bods? How boring! Women have to put up with this on a daily basis without having to run into it masquerading as a "review." I enjoyed this movie precisely because of its shortcomings, predictability and improbability. ITS JUST A MOVIE AND AN ENTERTAINMENT!!!And it does represent a certain reality--that of a lying rat preying on an innocent. Watch it some day
