Good plot with good characters. However I feel it is dragged out over too many episodes with nothing really happening. Basically watch the first and the last episodes and you've got a good TV Movie. The first episode sets the scene. Is Sean Bean a murderer, a gangster or a secret agent? Did he kill his family? None of these questions are answered until the very last episode, where everything unfolds in a tense and action packed way.
Some very good characters. My favourite has to be the Pakistani taxi company owner.

Wow! I was left with a really sick feeling in my stomach just after the first 15 minutes. This film must have the most realistic battle scene ever - especially the underwater shots. The way the American GIs are "slaughtered" is unbelievable. The film has the shock value of the 'nam films, but also has the feelgood factor in the fact that the enemy gets what he deserves. Personally I didn't have any sympathy for the surrendering Nazis being shot, especially after the results of one of them being released. Tom Hanks' character is excellent - a ruthless killing machine with a sensitive school teacher. I felt the film was a bit "Americanised" - all the soldiers were American, but it reminds you if The good ole USA hadn't helped us out all us Brits would be speaking German and eating Sauerkraut by now ;-)
