Sheriff Country

This isn't a cop show. It's a cringy drama where the some of the actors are playing cops in a badly written soap opera. The storyline was shallow and predictable. The law enforcement tactics that were portrayed were horrendous. I had hopes of this being good but it was a disappointment. Just not believable and not engaging.

So much potential, lots of opportunities to take a serious look at small town departments handling the problems in country communities with a lot less resources. Unfortunately it's a soapy drama filled and poorly overacted show. I've tried 2 shows and just find it hard to stay with it despite it playing on a Saturday night with little competition. Too many other shows available these days to keep wasting time on this one.

The cast is capable and interesting. It seems like Sheriff Country's Edgewater is a little bigger community than Fire Country's Edgewater. If it weren't for Bode doing a cameo where he gives his cousin money to pay back their grandpa after stealing from him, you wouldn't even know it's the same TV universe. Morena Baccarin is always excellent and the production is quality. It does feel like a Degrassi mashup with a cop show, but that's not a bad thing. If you're tired of gore, classic rock hooks, floating graphics, and crime lab microscope camera angles, Sheriff Country could be for you. If you miss all that stuff, Matt Lauria also does an excellent job.

Just saw the first 2 episodes. Good acting and decent writing. Ofcourse there has to be an annoying teenager that makes the show bring down the ratings. Why do they keep on having annoying teenagers like the leads daughter. And one more thing. Who came up with this very silly name for the sherrif. Mickey!! Really!!!

I've been watching Sheriff Country, starring Morena Baccarin, and I've genuinely enjoyed it. This is not an action-packed, cops-and-robbers show, and that's actually part of its appeal. The pacing is more deliberate, the conflicts more personal, and the storytelling leans into moral gray areas rather than shootouts. As I've binged my way through the first season, I've found the characters steadily evolving, with motivations and relationships becoming more layered and believable as the episodes go on.

What makes the show interesting is its focus on community, consequence, and imperfect people trying to do the right thing under pressure. Set in a rural county where everyone knows everyone else, the cases often blur the line between personal loyalty and professional duty. Morena Baccarin brings a grounded, quietly intense presence to the lead role, anchoring the series as it explores long-running story arcs rather than tidy, episodic resolutions. If you're looking for something thoughtful and character-driven, where the stories deepen over time, this one is worth sticking with.
