Here we go again. I imagine, in a studio, somewhere, this sort of conversation:
"Hey! Let's make a historical drama!"
"Yeh, we can do anything...nobody knows about that stuff anyway!"
"Wait, there aren't any women in this history- women won't want to see a film where women don't take part."
"We'll make something up, no one will ever know!"
"We've got loads of costumes somewhere, dye them brown, they didn't have colour back in the middle ages."
Sigh. Yes. There are those of us who do know. Harold (later, briefly, King Harold) had a last name, Godwinson, not 'Harold Wessex' Oh, my bad, does that mean you are deliberately doing that so it's obvious it's fiction? Costuming...look, we know what they wore. HOW? Bayeaux Tapestry. Shows images of clothes. COLOURS. ARMOUR (chain mail, not everyone in leather). WOMEN DID NOT FIGHT AT HASTINGS. Looks like there are photos suggesting there are. NOPE. Clothing....people, there are illuminations and statues from that period, we know what they were wearing. There are extant pieces (that means 'surviving' ) of clothing from that period. So, no, throwing remnants of bits on actors from 'Game of Thrones' does not work. If your research is that lazy, go to Dover Castle, they have some 12th century displays that are better than what are seen in the stills from this disaster. What about the actual history? If you have done this badly with the costuming, I don't trust your history either. I won't be watching this, and encourage others to do the same.
