Avis à la une
Excellent acting from top to bottom and it excellent first five episodes. A couple of plot conveniences verging on deus ex machina, combined with other parts of the plot falling into some too familiar territory, and a not altogether satisfying conclusion, mean the 6th and final episode is okay but a bit of a let down. Nonetheless, given the solid acting and writing for the first several episodes, fans of this sort of BBC crime show might want to check it out. I really liked the song that sounds in the series' intro, but neither Shazam nor Google helped me find the author and title. This is probably some little-known Irish folk group. In case anyone knows her, I would be very grateful.
The series looks easy and has a pleasant aftertaste of Ireland. My family and I are literally hooked on Irish TV series. Good acting, beautiful Irish scenery and a pleasant little town. Sometimes you watch certain TV series because of the place where they are filmed.
The main character returns to her hometown, where she experienced a tragedy as a child and, through the work of a detective, tries to get to the bottom of the truth of what really happened.

This is really watchable and easy to get in to. Lisa Dwan is very watchable and carries off her role with enough panache to keep you interested.
The supporting cast are all pretty good and do their best with the convoluted plot line. The plot is full of twists and turns but ultimately feels like it's trying too hard to fill out each of the red herring plot deviations.
The last episode feels like it's been written by someone different to the first 5 episodes. It's all Over the place and quite a clumsy unbelievable ending to what had been a satisfying series up until then. I'd still rate it overall as a watchable 7!!

I, too, found the opening and closing music to be haunting. There's a line in the credits that says the opening and closing themes are 'We, the Drowned' by Lisa Hannigan. Apple Music has three different versions.
About the series... it's very Irish and somewhat dark but very watchable. Lisa Dwan is very good. The plot is complex but not confusing in the end. Scenery is grand, as are the interiors of various homes and buildings.
All six episodes are on AcornTV (Summer 2025) so very bingeable.
I would absolutely recommend giving it a watch... since you can always bail out if it's not your taste.

Blackshore is one of the latest Irish TV Series that has been realased. If be honest I had very high hopes for this show after watching other recent Irish TV Shows such as The Woman in the Wall and The Vanishing Triangle. However, it was not what I was expected. Although this show is a decent one and the story is quite good, there are issues with acting. I do not know what other people think but I do not think that Lisa Dwan is fit for the role of Detective Fia. I did not like the way how she acts in this show. Nevertheless, the other actors are really good in particularly Stanley Townsted (Andor and The Spy). But still this series is a decent one and I give 6 over 10.
