The Artist walks aimlessly through the park, reflecting on his last relationship. Totally oblivious to his surroundings, he completely misses the woman and her dog walking by and staring at him. This is also a reflection of him with his ex-girlfriend who he was "too busy" to spend time with, which caused the arguments and the break-up. The Artist goes out with his friends and pretends to be happy but at the end of the day he drinks alone with his sorrows. During his walk he sees his ex, looking like she's waving at him. He's so relieved to see this and happily waves back, but with the camera reveal we see his ex was actually waving to her new boyfriend. He continues walking through the park even more depressed from what he saw. He eventually crosses paths with the same woman and her dog, though this time the dog starts playing with him and gets his attention. The universe has a way of attempting to reach us though, people hardly notice the things right in front of their eyes.
