After some times kollywood has given a back to back hits , actually i watched lubber pandhu after amaran. Quality movies in the recent past. Commercial directors its a humble request, believe the story and screenplay. If the content is good people will surely vome to theater and witness masterpiecees, irrespective of the stardom and one such movie is Lubber pandhu. Story and screenplay is the real star and all other charavters did their role to perfect. I just loved all of fab 4 , special kudos to dinesh and harish kalyan. Oh boy their performances and actions , the screen presence and individuality they are scoring every scene. So so good. Sean roldan is been another pillar to this movie. The music bgm and songs were top notch. The story and screenplay is soo soo good , special mention to the director, he has just wrote a script. Overall a good family entertainer. What a movie!! This is easily one of my favorite of the year, Tamil or not. I can already picture references from this film playing out at the Chepauk in the IPL in a few months time.

Tough to make a movie about cricket and make it different, especially since Blue Star released not too long ago. Tough to make the messaging subtle, but retain the importance. We've seen the family drama and the love-angle plot several times over the years. But regardless of all that, these guys managed to make the film look and feel very 'fresh'.

If you haven't watched this film yet, I'd very highly recommend.

Lubber Pandhu is an outstanding sports drama, one of the best in recent times. It explores themes ranging from our country's cricket fanaticism to inter-community love and marriage, discrimination in sports, and ego. The lead characters' ego clash appears to draw inspiration from Ayyapanum Koshiyum and Harish Kalyan's previous film, Parking. The casting, characterization, and cricket scenes are all executed splendidly. The writing is excellent, managing to convey multiple themes within a simple story. All the actors, including the supporting cast, deliver top-notch performances. The music and score complement the film beautifully. The ending effectively encapsulates the writer and director Tamizharasan Pachamuthu's intent in choosing this subject. Overall, it's a great film from a debutant writer-director.

Anbu is a talented cricketer who aspires to join his favorite Jolly Friends team but is denied the chance because of his caste. Jolly Friends team captain Karuppaiya, joins Anbu to another team and they play against Sachin Boys which had the star batsman Gethu, who plays cricket by lying to his wife Yashodai. Anbu figures out Gethu is weak in off side. A decade later, Anbu is yet to be included in Jolly Friends team, gets to play against Gethu and succeeds in bowling him out. This leads to an ego clash between them and to make it worse, Anbu is in love with Gethu's daughter Durga. How does Anbu win over Gethu and convince Yashodai to allow him to marry Durga, forms rest of the story.

This adds to the list of films I regret missing out in theater. The debutante writer-director Tamizharasan Pachamuthu impresses big time by keeping the story grounded. Though the story revolves around Anbu and Gethu, it is the supporting cast that gets to shine big time. The film begins with Anbu being denied the opportunity to join Jolly Friends and team, this remains the main plot and the way the director circled back to it in the end, though convenient, leaves a positive impact. The scenes involving Yashodai and her mother-in-law followed Yashodai and Gethu were indeed the highlight. This was melodrama done right. With the right casting and a tight screenplay, Lubber Pandhu turns out to be a solid watch and a must watch film.

The best rural sports genre movie, filled with WOW moments everywhere. The director marked his victory, when we get goosebumps for Attakatthi Dinesh. Highly entertaining sports drama with very good social message without any preaching tone.

The background songs, Vijayakanth are used for mass moments. Without any punch dialogs, without mass hero, the movie has fantastic mass moments in the second half.

The dialogs are nicely written and all the actors did their job very well. The one liner, sentiment, love sequences are perfectly gelled with Cricket.

The best part is that the comedy layer in all sad/joy moments make the audience laugh from beginning to end. After long time, I enjoyed the perfect entertainer by forgetting the real world around me.

I would highly recommending this movie to anyone.

Worth the watch.
