Think Like a Man Too

The first one was really great and you can see how excited everyone is coming back to the characters and relationships they loved to play. The end result is not as good as the first one, but you can still have fun. There is a bit of an evolution (though the "mom" still seems to have the same issues, but gets a different kind of story-line/character that will serve her right ...), but nothing too major. The character traits are still visible and some of the issues have gone further (J. Ferrara and Unions characters).

There is fun to be had, although the script is not as good and witty as the first one. Still if you loved the characters in the first one, you should be able to go on that second ride with them. Still not much in the depth department, but I didn't expect that to happen here anyway

"I'm gonna give you the perfect weekend. Nothing is going to go wrong." The gang from the first movie are all back but this time they are in Vegas for the wedding of Michael and Candace. Cedric (Hart) is the best man and wants everything to go perfect so he rents a hotel room, reserves a party bus and has the entire night planned out. Things for the ladies are planned out and everything is starting off smooth and easy. Things quickly start to unravel when the hotel room turns out to be more than expected, two of them get job offers and Cedric starts to lose more money then he wanted to but nothing compares to what Miss Loretta has planned. I have said many times that how much you like a movie depends about 80% on expectations. If you think a movie will be garbage and it wasn't you say you like it. If you are super excited about seeing it and it wasn't as good as you thought you say it wasn't that good. This movie is in the third classification...exactly what you expect. I remember seeing the first one and thought it was pretty funny but didn't need a sequel. I do have to say though that since it was was I expected it wasn't terrible. I may be in the minority in this but I do not think that Kevin Hart is all that funny. He seems to try to hard and just yells a lot. I know a lot of people like him and is the reason that many people will watch this but for me the movie would have been better without him. The movie would be moving along smooth and begin to develop the plot then Kevin Hart would jump in screaming and slow the movie down. Almost all of his scenes seemed to distract from the flow of the movie. If you liked the first one and are a fan of the Why Did I Get Married series than you will most likely like this one. Overall, exactly what I was expecting. I thought it was OK but not really a sequel that was needed and would have been better without Kevin Hart. I give it a B-.

2014 seems to be a good year for Sequels to out due the originals.

Then again, I didn't like Think Like a Man to begin with. The film is no different than The Transformers movie, It's made to sell a product, in this case a book. Because of this, the movie about the war of the sexes always leans more towards women, who the self help book is for, whereas if the roles were reverse it would have been a differently laid out plot altogether.

This is possibly why I like this movie better, because the product is not there to sell, the movie becomes a more fairer battle of the sexes. The Story of the ensemble cast coming to Vegas for a Wedding which starts with a Bachelor and Bachelorette party in which each sex tries to prove who can party harder starts off on a level playing field with out the interference of the book.

Although, like the first film you do have to deal with the interference of Mr. Kevin Hart. He was just so funny, that the men already won the battle before it started. I don't know if he could not be the center of Hilarious, even if he tried.

With that said, the movie is a very stereotypical last hooray set in Vegas, which was too by the numbers for me. I've seen it done just as formulated but a little funnier. Kevin hart is great, but I feel like I did not get more from the characters this time around, and it was not a great enough of a party to forgive that.

Overall, still better than the first,

Think Like a Man Too (2014) is the sequel to Think Like a Man (2012) and it was directed by Tim Story with the ensemble cast from that first movie back and it was just very mediocre.

Positives for Think Like a Man Too (2014): The returning ensemble cast does a great job with their performances and they look like they're having fun in this movie. The various scenarios with the men and women are doing their own thing in Las Vegas is certainly interesting. I also liked some of the dramatic moments between characters in the third act. And finally, this movie is good for some background noise while you're doing other things.

Negatives for Think Like a Man Too (2014): There isn't much of a story to this movie and it doesn't really advance any of the characters in any meaningful ways. You have Adam Brody who pretty much does nothing and if you waste Adam Brody, then you have a serious problem. And finally, there is nothing in this movie to justify its own existence aside from the studio wanting franchise with this ensemble cast and to make money.

Overall, Think Like a Man Too (2014) is a very mediocre sequel to an average romantic comedy movie that didn't do a whole lot for me and this sequel justifies that statement for me.

The movie is a comedy about the battle of the sexes, with the couples going to Las Vegas for a wedding, and holding bachelor and bachelorette parties for their friends, that end up in disaster and many crazy outcomes.

With a star-studded cast, the movie fails, however, to impress, with a messy pace and poor editing, which makes each scene not flow as organically as it should,d and the movie ends up being a random series of events. At least the performances saved the day!

So, overall, five out of ten, as it was a so-so comedy, but there were some enjoyable parts.
