Avis à la une
I have enormous respect for this people. They recorded this movie with barely any budget, unstable electricity, only one camera, reusing actors, putting themselves in danger, almost no props or sets and in a poor country, and the best part is they didn't even intended for this film to be worldwide famous, they just distributed it from house to house.
Sure, you can pick apart every second of this movie until you die, but that's not the point. They didn't intend this movie to be The Lord of the Rings or Pulp Fiction or The Godfather. They made it purely for fun, for passion, for love. You can even watch the movie for free if you want, it's on their website, you don't even have to pirate it.
This is probably the most charming film I've ever seen. Even the background behind all this is inspiring as hell.
Just goes on to show that you don't need a million-dollar budget to make a solid, entertaining film.
This movie is immensely charming and has intoxicating energy from beginning to end. It's seriously, not ironically, one of my favorite films now. I have never laughed this hard at a movie this frequently in my whole life.
This movie was made on a microscopic budget in a third world country in which the director got his whole community involved in production. He sold everything he owned to purchase his camera and built his own PC out of old parts for editing. What came together is a film that's completely aware of it's limitations and runs with it the whole way through with spectacular results. The movie is accompanied by a joke narrator of sorts who is basically just riffing the movie, and it makes the entire experience a riot. I can't wait to watch this with my friends and have an absolute ball with them.
In spite of this movies obvious limitations the director is also impressively competent for receiving so little training in the field he has never even stepped into a movie theater. There were shots in this movie that genuinely impressed me with their creativity and composition (if I make a live action film I might rip some of these ideas off). The film has expansive lore with memorable characters, the best being the leader of the Tiger Mafia, Richard, who is a diabolical and conniving leader whom no one in the movie can intimidate. Not only that, but the action choreography is damn impressive. the stuntman in this movie were self taught kung fu and compete in local tournaments, and you can certainly tell. They know how to take falls, they know how to fake being hit, and the character this movie dubs as "the Ugandan Bruce Lee" is demonstrably strong as hell. I'd love to see both this director and these stuntman be given a larger budget, possibly of Hollywood proportion. The way the kung fu scenes are shot are well done too: they show every hit and it's impact in the same shot, really allowing the choreography to shine (compare that to modern Hollywood where it cuts on every hit so it's impossible to tell what's going on).
All in all, this is a film well worth funding, but the director has such a big heart he lets you download and watch it for free on his website. Please check it out and show your friends, it's a gut wrenchingly funny romp that is the perfect kind of ridiculous with glimmers of talent that shine through the limitations of the budget. And ultimately it's so touching to see this passionate village give this movie their all.

The only film I have ever seen with a video MC keeping the excitement levels up. It was the video equivalent of a classic drum and bass track. The acting was not important. The storyline might have been important, but the MC kept shouting over the top. This may have changed it from a drama filled action flick to a more comedic action movie, but maybe that is the point. It was made on a shoestring budget so the props and special effects are pretty poor, but this adds to the charm of it all. The main conundrum of who actually killed captain Alex is pretty incidental to the chaotic, partially unscripted film
Overall it was unlike anything I'd ever seen before. Which I'm taking as a good thing.

I have created an IMDb account just to review this movie. I don't even know where to start explaining the way in which this movie has touched and impressed me.
When watching it, you have to leave all your standards and expectations regarding cinematography behind because only then you can see it for the true masterpiece that it is. The whole context in which it was made adds to the beauty of it. The fighting scenes, especially the ones involving kung fu are, in my opinion, quite good even compared to Hollywood blockbusters. The acting doesn't even matter. The VJ, although I thought it would be rather annoying, turned out to be in fact really funny and exactly what this movie needed.
I applaud the whole cast and crew who produced with professionalism and dedication such a humble, hilarious and *action packed movie* on the lowest budget I have ever heard of.

This film is funny, exciting, enjoyable, and entertaining. The guy who made this film did this with passion and heart, Uganda is in poverty, but one man steps up to establish entertainment for his country, which will spread to other countries. By selling his things to buy a camera and building a computer, he assembled a team and was going to make the most action packed movie. Then came Who Killed Captain Alex. That story is inspiring and the film is as well. People make movies to entertain people, not to sell merchandise and coat it in CGI. If you want to watch this film, it is free on YouTube and uploaded by the studio themselves. Go check it out! You'll enjoy every second.
