There are also a wide variety of original Prime Video movies. Some of their most popular titles include the John Cena movies Ricky Stanicky, Heads of State, and Jackpot!. However, they have also put out movies featuring other major stars such as Orlando Bloom (Deep Cover), Blake Lively (Another Simple Favor), and Jake Gyllenhaal (Road House).

A concerning update about Amazon Prime Video's Red, White & Royal Blue 2 emerged online, and it seems that fans will endure a much longer wait for the sequel's production to begin. Red, White & Royal Blue became a massive hit on Prime Video when it was released in August 2023 after it earned the top spot in the streamer's charts during its opening weekend, ultimately leading to it being ranked among the top three most-watched romantic comedies in the streamer's history. The movie also became a viral hit due to its compelling portrayal of LGBTQ+ romance. As a result, Amazon (via Deadline) greenlit a sequel to Red, White & Royal Blue in May 2024. 

Directed by Matthew Lòpez, Red, White & Royal Blue follows the story of Alex Claremont-Diaz (aka the president's son) who unexpectedly fell in love with his former rival and royal counterpart, Prince Henry of the United Kingdom, after a public scandal.

Variety‘s “Actors on Actors” has received its fourth Daytime Emmy nomination.

Ever since a sequel to the fan-favorite Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez-led rom-com, Red, White & Royal Blue, was announced, many of its details have been kept under wraps, much to fans’ disappointment. However, it has just been confirmed that a major star is set to return as part of the cast, in the person of Uma Thurman, who portrays Perez’s onscreen mother and the first female Potus, Ellen Claremont. Thurman has been most recently seen in Charlize Theron's The Old Guard 2, which was released on July 2.

Uma Thurman is locked in for the “Red, White & Royal Blue” sequel. “When it’s ready, I will do it,” she told Letterboxd in an interview out Thursday. The actress starred in the 2023 movie as the first female president, Ellen Claremont, who is also a supportive mom when her son comes out.

Elsewhere in the interview, Thurman also noted that the role gave her the opportunity to enjoy an alternate political timeline, even if it was pretend. “I like playing fun characters,” she explained. “I loved Ellen. Ellen was great to watch, even to imagine that, like, today it’s like, it’s such an alternative better world.”

Thurman, who currently stars in “The Old Guard 2,” also had plenty of praise for the character in an interview with Forbes published Friday. “I think she would squelch divisiveness. I think she led with love, but strength — and we’re not seeing that these days.

Dysfunctional parents, a pining girlfriend, falling for a straight guy — if you’ve seen one gay coming-out movie, you’ve seen them all. In fact, the genre has become so overcrowded that it’s spilled out from indie film festivals to streaming and even the multiplex via mainstream efforts such as “Love, Simon,” “Heartstopper,” and “Red, White & Royal Blue.”

Watching these same beats play out time and again, it’s tempting to dismiss coming-out movies as trite or unnecessary these days, at least within a Western context. But of course, every generation deserves its own version of this story. The problem is when said story is derivative of what’s come before.

Cookie-cutter takes on this vital step in the lives of so many no longer move the dial forward like they used to. To be queer is by definition a radical act, yet subversive, disruptive spins on that narrative remain few and far between.

A new Prime Video action movie has quickly climbed the streaming charts, just days after premiering. Incorporating original and Amazon MGM Studios content, among other movies and TV shows, Prime Video houses many popular releases, including Red, White, & Royal Blue and Totally Killer. “But of course, the [first] movie is based on the novel, and the story ends at the end of the novel,” Matthew continued. “And so, I had Casey McQuiston come over to London, where I live, and we spent about a week just hammering out what a new story would look like.

Not much is known about the upcoming sequel to the Prime Video romcom success Red, White & Royal Blue, but star Taylor Zakhar Perez is giving some insight as to why that news will likely not be coming from him. The sequel, announced last year, is a follow-up to the adaptation of Casey McQuiston's book of the same name. Since there is no book sequel, the plot of the upcoming follow-up remains a mystery. Zakhar Perez plays Alex Claremont-Diaz, the First Son. He stars opposite Nicholas Galitzine who plays the fictional Prince Henry of England. The pair are forced to pretend they are friends (when in reality they can't stand each other) after an international incident at a wedding. Romantic sparks eventually fly. As for the sequel, other than there will be one with the pair returning, Zakhar Perez tells Elle he took a bit of a Marvel script approach to the follow-up.

Independent Film Company has acquired the North American rights to “100 Nights of Hero,” an ensemble fairy tale romance that stars Emma Corrin, Nicholas Galitzine, Maika Monroe, Amir El-Masry, Charli Xcx, Richard E. Grant and Felicity Jones.

Julia Jackman wrote and directed the adaptation of Isabel Greenberg’s bestselling graphic novel, “The One Hundred Nights of Hero.”

Amazon MGM Studios's Masters of the Universe movie starring Nicholas Galitzine isn't due out until next year, but by the power of Grayskull, we now have our first look at one of the main setpieces of the star-studded fantasy epic while production is underway. New set photos shared online have revealed the gates of Castle Grayskull, including the imposing jaw bridge that welcomes visitors into the keep. Speculation has increased in recent months regarding the status of Salke at Amazon, which she first joined in 2018 after a lengthy stint at NBC. Sarah Shahi has been a big Dan Fogelman fan ever since This Is Us.

When Fogelman debuted his beloved NBC family drama back in 2016, he received an email from a fan. Shahi wrote the showrunner to say that she would do any role on the series, she’d even warm up coffee. She was later cast on his short-lived Fox baseball drama Pitch, but they never met. It wasn’t until her audition for Paradise, Fogelman’s next mystery series, that they would finally meet.

“He took one look at me and he remembered. He said, ‘Sarah Shahi, you wrote me the kindest email and I’ve been wanting to meet you ever since,'” she recalls now to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Masters of the Universe franchise has been around for decades, and it spawned a series of media, including action figures, television series, comic series, and feature films. Prime Video is set to turn the franchise into a new live-action movie.

With a premiere for 2026, the Masters of the Universe feature film has started shooting. The upcoming superhero film will have Nicholas Galitzine making his debut as a superhero star, who is set to play He-Man. But before all of these, we’re getting Before Nikkah, Haider Zafar’s film about two people forced to spend the day together after an arranged date. Zafar has previously worked as a cinematographer in various films, but Before Nikkah marks his feature directorial debut.

Taylor Zakhar Perez is stripping down for his new role as Lacoste‘s underwear ambassador!

Oscar nominee Uma Thurman (Pulp Fiction) is entering the world of serial killer Dexter Morgan with a series regular role in Dexter: Resurrection. Thurman’s the first Dexter newbie announced and will be joining returning Dexter alum Michael C. Hall in the titular role, James Remar as Harry Morgan, and David Zayas as Detective Angel Batista.

Dexter: New Blood‘s Jack Alcott will reprise his role as Dexter’s son, Harrison Morgan.

Hollywood star Uma Thurman is set to join Michael C. Hall in “Dexter: Resurrection,” the newest addition to Showtime’s popular “Dexter” series. Thurman will play Charley, a former Special Ops officer who heads security for mysterious billionaire Leon Prater.

The series, now filming in New York, will debut this summer on Paramount+ with Showtime. It picks up where “Dexter: New Blood” left off, with Hall returning as the complex serial killer Dexter Morgan and continuing his role as narrator.

Several fan-favorite actors are returning to the show. David Zayas will be back as Detective Angel Batista, while James Remar returns as Harry Morgan, Dexter’s late father. Jack Alcott will continue his role as Harrison Morgan, Dexter’s son.

The LGBTQ+ rom-com premiered on Prime Video in 2024 and was based on Casey McQuiston‘s novel of the same name. It was such a hit that a sequel was ordered nearly a year ago.

Since then, we haven’t heard much about the project, which is still in development. However, we did some digging to see what we could find out about the cast.
