Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester has rekindled her romance with actor Aaron Himelstein during a steamy trip to Brazil.

The actress briefly dated the High Fidelity actor after they met on the set of 2008 drama Remember the Daze, but went on to start a relationship with her Gossip Girl co-star Sebastian Stan.

Now Meester and Himelstein are back on and they have jetted off to South America to spend some quality time together.

The reunited couple held hands and frolicked in the sea together in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday, and a bikini-clad Meester was also photographed wrapping her arms around Himelstein and planting a kiss on his lips.

The loved-up pair continued their romantic Rio getaway by visiting the famous Christ the Redeemer statue and shopping at the Hippie Fair in Ipanema.

Leighton Meester, best known for her performance in the CW’s Gossip Girl series, co-stars alongside Selena Gomez and Katie Cassidy in this weekend’s young femme comedy Monte Carlo.

Leighton Marissa Meester (born April 9, 1986) is an American actress and singer. Meester gained fame for playing the role of Blair Waldorf in the CW young-adult television series Gossip Girl. She most recently appeared in the 2010 country drama film Country Strong and the 2011 thriller The Roommate.

Early life

Meester was born in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of Constance (née Haas) and Douglas Meester.

Talking about the upcoming season of "Gossip Girl", Leighton Meester has shared what she has in mind over the relationship between Blair and Chuck. Asked by MTV News whether the TV couple really are over, the actress who stars as Blair in the series teased, "I think Blair has done some healing, but not entirely. She definitely she has a flame burning for Chuck. Who wouldn't?"

Met on the set of "Monte Carlo", the 24-year-old also weighed in on whether right now is the right time for Chuck to date a new girl. "I am a fan, which sounds ridiculous, of Chuck and Blair," she responded. "I love their relationship, and I really love working with Ed, which is what it probably boils down to. But yeah, I think maybe there needed to be some sort of break in their relationship and some sort of drama."

But hold on. Jessica Manafort is attached to direct. But hold on again. It will be called Cowgirl Bandits. Whose effing name is 'Leighton', anyway? I know what this is. This is a younger, hipper version of the film, because who wants to look at women over 30? Not men, that's who not!...

Heard starred in Manafort's 2007 comedy Remember the Daze, which Manafort also wrote, revolved around the relationship dynamics of a group of suburban teens on the last day of school in 1999. Yay women director.

It looks like we're getting a newish Thelma & Louise. Over at Production Weekly's wonderfully brief Twitter feed, they report: "Amber Heard & Leighton Meester attached to star in Cowgirl Bandits a young version of Thelma & Louise, with Jessica Manafort to direct." Manafort has worked with both actresses before on her 2007 film, The Beautiful Ordinary, which focused on teens and their last day of high school. But this is a whole different corral.

Personally, I'm wondering if these are just some slow-moving bandits. Back in March of 2007, we learned about a new project called The Uncatchable Cowgirl Bandits of Nottingham, Texas. The film was said to zero in on some cowgirls who are also bank robbers. Amber Heard and Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester will team up for Cowgirl Bandits. Though details are few and far between, the duo will probably play bandits…who are also cowgirls. The story is being pitched a “young Themla & Louise.”

The project will be directed by Jess Manafort, who directed Remember the Daze which starred both actresses in 2007.

Amber Heard can be seen in the latest horror retread, The Stepfather, where she plays somebody who presumably gets stabbed. Possibly twice.

Heard will play a cool "stoner" chick who is looking for direction and meaning in her life. A shoot beginning next week in Wilmington, N.C., is being planned.
