Avis à la une
"Hellroller" is a totally unique horror movie, about a serial killer in a wheelchair. That's why I like this movie so much. It's not just another ripoff of every horror movie made before. It is different. The killings are way out there, like ironing to death!!! I never saw that before. The special effects are among the best I've ever seen. Wait til you see how magnificent Michelle Bauer dies, after she gets naked, that is! Speaking of naked, porn star Hyapatia Lee strips, before she meets her doom. In addition to a unique storyline, and amazing effects, this picture has one of the greatest horror casts ever, including Mary Woronov, Elizabeth Kaitan, Ruth Collins, and Johnny Legend. I had to hunt this one down, but it's worth tracking down.

Since I've read so much about this movie online, I decided to track it down and see for myself what all the fuss is about. I rented it, and loved it. I prefer horror films that aren't ripoffs of other horror films. This one is unique. A serial killer in a wheelchair! That has not been done before. This guy is mad at the world, and he takes it out on everybody, well at least on every beautiful babe he can catch. He kills in bizarre ways, like ironing to death, disembowelment, double-impalement, and it goes on and on. The effects are among the best I've ever seen, and that includes big budget films. The cast is like a who's who of horror actors, including Michelle Bauer, Mary Woronov, Elizabeth Kaitan, Ruth Collins, Johnny Legend, and porn superstar Hyapatia Lee. Now that I've seen it, twice, plus a lot of slow-motion, since Michelle Bauer and Hyapatia Lee both get naked, I know why everyone is talking about it. There is no other movie in the world like "Hellroller." It's among my ten all-time favorite horror films.
Finally, the first film I would recommend to Adolf Hitler, or for that matter, anyone guilty of committing heinous crimes.
Forget death sentences. We should make convicts watch this film over and over again. Maybe that way, the crime rate in this country would lower.
This makes my list of the five worst films ever made. Love that two-headed redneck.

I stumbled on "Hellroller" in the cult section of a video store. The box was amazing, so I figured I'd check it out. I'd heard of this movie, and the plot, a serial killer in a wheelchair, is definitely unique. I wasn't dissapointed. It starts out fast, and is non-stop, one beautiful chick after another getting slaughtered by the wheelchair killer, who does them in in lots of weird ways, like spearing two at once, ironing to death, disembowelment, mouth-stabbing and more. In between the killings, Michelle Bauer and porno-star Hyapatia Lee get naked. Unlike many big-budget movies, "Hellroller" has no filler at all--it's non-stop from beginning to end. It's incredibly original, a very sick horror classic, with amazing makeup effects. It's one of a handful of my favorite horror films that I have to watch over and over again. This one is worth tracking down, especially with the amazing cast that includes Mary Woronov, Elizabeth Kaitan, Ruth Collins, and Johnny Legend.
Hellroller is extremely cheap, totally trashy and utterly insane, like the crappiest Troma movie you've ever seen, only much more inept. It makes Street Trash look like a mega-budget blockbuster. Manos: The Hands of Fate is a masterpiece of cinema by comparison. The film is down there with the likes of z-grade clunkers Maniac Nurses and Blood Theatre. If you actively seek out really bad films, you've hit the mother lode with Hellroller - it doesn't get much worse than this.
Talking of Blood Theatre, that film's star, Mary Woronov, is in Hellroller too, but she wisely hides behind the pseudonym of Penny Arcade. Scream queen Michelle Bauer is in the film as well; she's done hardcore adult films, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if she was more embarrassed about being in this one.
The film stars Ron Litman as wheelchair-bound street bum Eugene, whose frustration and rage at his situation leads him to become a serial killer, his victims being those more fortunate than himself: the healthy, the wealthy and the beautiful. As if the idea of a killer in a wheelchair wasn't dumb enough, the film throws in all manner of other crazy characters, including siamese twin sex attackers, a bum king, female muggers, a mad scientist, and a supermodel, played by Bauer, who does aerobics in her underwear and takes long, soapy baths.
Writer, director, and cinematographer Gary J. Levinson clearly has no idea what he is doing: his script is awful, the acting is amateurish, the gore effects are cheap and unconvincing, and the film looks terrible, with grainy, blurry, badly lit imagery and cheap and nasty visual effects. He even manages to make gratuitous nudity boring.
Since I'm not a shill, my rating is 1/10. Hellroller is definitely a one-of-a-kind experience - but it's also definitely crap.
