Henry Cavill Dated Alexandra Daddario in 14% Rt Thriller That Toppled Tom Cruise on Streaming Charts
The only movie that paired two Hollywood crushes, Henry Cavill and Alexandra Daddario, the 2018 thriller Night Hunter has shockingly climbed the Paramount+ streaming charts, overtaking Tom Cruise’s blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick.
Despite having a meager 14% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Cavill’s movie is now sitting pretty at #2 on the platform, while Cruise’s high-flying sequel slips to #3 (via Flixpatrol). It’s the kind of unexpected twist no one saw coming, especially since Night Hunter was barely noticed when it first released.
But now, after decades, the film is suddenly finding a new audience on Paramount+, and fans can’t stop talking about it online. Whatever might be the reason, the thriller’s streaming comeback is turning heads.
Henry Cavill and Alexandra Daddario’s Thriller Was Unfairly Slammed Upon Release
When you hear the names Henry Cavill and Alexandra Daddario, you probably think of blockbusters, red carpets, and fan-favorite roles like Superman or Annabeth Chase.

Kyle Larson is arguably the best all-around driver currently behind any wheel, and is a first-place contender every time he competes in the NASCAR Cup Series – just don’t compare him to Ricky Bobby.
The series champ appeared on Tuesday’s episode of the “Games With Names” podcast, hosted by New England Patriots Super Bowl Mvp Julian Edelman. Mid-conversation he was asked whether he liked “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby,” the 2006 hit comedy starring Will Ferrell as a wildly successful but dim-witted NASCAR driver who coined the phrase “If you’re not first, you’re last.”
“Do (drivers) like ‘Talladega Nights?’ Is that movie funny or is that dumb for you guys?,” co-host Sam Morrill asked Larson, who somewhat hesitated to answer.
“I — I mean I like the movie,” Larson said. “I think it did not do anything good for our sport. I think it turned our sport into like a joke unfortunately.

Terry Reid, the artists’ artist who was revered by the likes of Aretha Franklin and Mick Jagger, and nearly became the lead singer of Led Zeppelin, has died, The Guardian reports. He was 75.
A rep for the British musician confirmed his death. An exact cause of death was not given, though Reid had been battling cancer and other health issues. A recent GoFundMe said Reid had been “in and out of the hospital, enduring rounds of treatment and uncertainty,” forcing him to cancel a six-week tour scheduled for the fall.

Brad Pitt has delivered the biggest box office hit of his career with F1, a film that has taken over global cinemas without needing a streaming release date to drive buzz. It should be clear by now that allowing a theatrical film some extra room can do wonders, especially if the movie is already doing well. On the flip-side, it’s also apparent that a hit movie will probably not suffer if it’s released prematurely on home video. The biggest hurdle in this case becomes retaining theaters. Apple’s F1 didn’t face this issue, because the tech giant hasn’t yet announced when it’ll debut on home video and the Apple TV+ streaming service. With distribution handled by Warner Bros., the movie has emerged as a massive hit; it’s now the biggest blockbuster of star Brad Pitt’s career, thanks to its overseas performance and the interest that it has seen on the IMAX format.

One of the biggest hits during the summer of 2025 was "F1," starring and produced by Brad Pitt, which dominated the box office upon its theatrical release. Set in the high-octane world of Formula One racing, the movie is supercharged by high-speed racing scenes lauded for their realism. Balancing the visually stunning driving sequences is the human element between the races, brought to life by Pitt and an impressive ensemble cast. And for audiences dazzled by the spectacle of "F1" looking for another movie to keep the high velocity thrills going, there are plenty of great racing movies to choose from.
There have been fantastic racing movies covering multiple aspects of auto sports for decades, often placing viewers right in the drivers' seats. These movies can range from realistic sports films like "F1" over films that veer into fantasy, comedy, or more overt action. But at their core, all of these...

Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas? Yep, that’s the latest Hollywood duo setting gossip sites on fire. After months of eyebrow-raising outings, birthday hangouts, and red-carpet chemistry, the new couple in town is finally spotted holding hands in Vermont. You heard it right; no stunt doubles here. Just a cozy stroll that screamed something’s definitely going on.
Well, it all started back in February 2025 when the two were seen together in London, looking way too good to be “just co-stars.” And since then, they’ve been popping up in each other’s orbit more than once, yep, like on birthdays, secret dinners, and now a woodsy weekend getaway. And if this wasn’t enough to fuel the case, recent reports are that they’re working together on a supernatural ocean thriller called Deeper.
While this pairing has fans intrigued and the internet in full detective mode, the question arises: are they really dating?...

Having completed a full month of release in theaters worldwide, Apple’s sports drama F1has now passed what will likely be its final global box office milestone. F1 has also established itself as one of the biggest original blockbusters of the last decade, as it aims to overtake the $531 million lifetime haul of World War Z to become star Brad Pitt’s biggest-ever hit. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, F1 opened to positive reviews and capitalized on Formula One racing’s popularity in overseas markets. Somewhat surprisingly, it did rather well domestically, too. Fueled by Pitt’s charisma, the movie has now passed the $165 million mark stateside.
F1 has generated an additional $344 million from overseas markets, for a cumulative global haul of $509 million. While the budget has not been made public for F1, it’s one of the biggest-ever films to have been produced by a tech giant. Apple is...

What is the greatest three-movie run by an actor? Well, first, let me define what I mean by greatest, and what I mean by three-movie run. For my purposes, “greatest” is measured by an equal consideration of movie quality, performance quality, box office, and pop culture relevance. In other words, the films/performances have to be good and well-known. Now, a three-movie run just means three consecutive films in an actor’s filmography. I’m going based on release date, so sometimes having multiple films in a year removes an actor from contention.
So, a good three-movie run is not easy to pull off.. There are a lot of well-known actors who don’t even sniff this list. Here are a few actors you won’t see in the Top 10: Matt Damon, Ethan Hawke, Nicolas Cage, Matthew McConaughey Bradley Cooper. I tried to get a Jack Nicholson 1970’s run on the list,...

If it wasn't clear by this point in his career, Tom Cruise has a need, and that's the need for speed, as shown in the "Top Gun" movies, "Days of Thunder," and many high-speed, nail-biting sequences in the "Mission: Impossible" film series. It makes sense, then, that in one of the greatest dad movies in recent memory, "Ford v Ferrari," Cruise chose not to pick up the keys for this true-life story of man and high-speed machine simply because there wouldn't be much driving for him to do.
Long before Matt Damon and Christian Bale starred as car designer Carroll Shelby and driver Ken Miles, respectively, in the James Mangold-directed film, Cruise was eyeing the project with plans to star opposite Brad Pitt. With F1 continuing its impressive box-office run, Brad Pitt has already entertained the prospect of the sequel in his interview with The National, potentially opposite Tom Cruise. Joseph Kosinski has also expressed interest in reuniting the duo on the track. Although it seems like a dream come true on paper, the prospect of a sequel with two aging movie stars may not deliver the authentic F1 experience.

Brad Pitt had a huge hit on his hands with the release of his latest movie, F1. Following the film's success, which saw F1 becoming the company's biggest box office hit, Apple is speeding toward an exciting new opportunity.
Per Collider, the Financial Times has reported that Apple is in active talks to acquire the rights to broadcast F1 races on its platform. As of now, F1 has a deal with ESPN that is set to expire in 2026, and the increasing popularity of their races has sparked bidders taking interest. If Apple finalizes a deal, F1 races could start streaming on Apple TV+ by next year, but the company might need to pony up some big bucks to make it happen.

This year’s summer blockbuster, Brad Pitt’s F1, does an infinitely better job in its treatment of the film’s secondary protagonist compared to Tom Cruise‘s Top Gun: Maverick from 2022. And the fact that fans are keen enough to notice even that slight deviation says something about the alleged long-simmering rivalry between the two Hollywood icons and their respective factions.
Be it on land or in the air, both F1 and Top Gun: Maverick deliver a thrilling and adrenaline-infused joyride worthy of the big screen experience. F1 is turning out to be one of the summer’s most unexpected success stories, and a reminder of the appeal of classic, old-fashioned, high-concept cinema. Reuniting the writer-director-producer—and even composer—of Top Gun: Maverick, it’s just as immersive and engaging as that film, even if it’s missing one key ingredient: Tom Cruise. Brad Pitt is superb in the lead role, but certainly, I wasn’t the only one watching F1 thinking that it felt almost exactly like a Tom Cruise movie—only without him. In fact, Cruise himself has been openly advocating for people to see F1, showing up at the premiere and writing about how much he enjoyed it on social media. But it also seems to have lit a competitive fire inside Cruise, who—after thirty-five years—has announced a sequel to his own racing movie, Days of Thunder! But what would it be like?...

Outpacing all of Apple's previous tentpole film releases, F1: The Movie is on track to become the studio's biggest hit. The breakout success is unprecedented, considering the tech giant's string of box office disappointments.
Apple's F1: The Movie has grossed $293 million after ten days of screening, overtaking its $250 million production budget. Per Variety, the film is still in the red if its $100 million marketing spend is considered. That win improves Apple Studio's batting average, at least; with five theatrical films released to date, only two come close to F1's success. Brad Pitt has been blowing away the competition on the track in his new Formula 1 racing movie, F1, but that is nothing compared to his devastating blow-off of a different kind that happened while filming the high-octane movie. The Ocean’s 11 star’s dedication to playing his role to the fullest extent ended up causing a real stink during the filming of one particular scene that involved the consumption of a lot of beans.
While recalling his work on the new hit movie, Pitt relayed the story of how he was required to eat several plates of beans and bacon during multiple takes of one particular scene set in a small café, and it had an immediate effect on his body in the worst way. Pitt told the New Heights podcast:
“We’re shooting in this little, tiny café. It’s full of the crew, so there’s about 60 people in there.

On a different racetrack of events, Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise were initially attached to Ford v Ferrari, with the F1 star revealing what ultimately led the latter to back out of the project.
Speaking to the United Arab Emirates-based publication The National News, Pitt reflected on the racing pic that never came to pass, which initially featured F1 and Top Gun: Maverick helmer Joseph Kosinski as director. The eventual 2019 biographical sports/action film featured Christian Bale as fearless racer Ken Miles, Matt Damon as automotive designer Carroll Shelby and James Mangold as filmmaker.
“Tom and I, for a while there, were on Ford v Ferrari with Joe [to direct],” the Interview with the Vampire actor said. “This was about 10 years before the guys who actually made it — and made it a great movie.”

After completing a full week of release in theaters worldwide, the mega-budget sports drama F1 is all set to pass a massive milestone at the global box office. It’s still not in the clear, however, considering how much it is said to have cost. But the movie seems to be on the right track. Directed by Joseph Kosinski and starring Brad Pitt, F1 recently overtook fellow racing drama Days of Thunder, both domestically and worldwide. As it heads into its second weekend of release, the movie has overtaken one of Pitt’s best-regarded past hits.
On Thursday, F1passed the $170 million milestone at the global box office, and, in doing so, it overtook the $168 million lifetime global haul of 12 Monkeys. Directed by Terry Gilliam and also starring Bruce Willis, the science-fiction film was released in 1995. This was an important time for Pitt, who had headlined director David Fincher...

Before Ford v Ferrari roared into theatres with Christian Bale and Matt Damon at the wheel, there was another high-octane duo in the driver’s seat: Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. The two megastars were originally lined up to headline a version of the racing drama directed by Top Gun: Maverick’sJoseph Kosinski, but as Pitt now reveals, it all screeched to a halt over a very Tom Cruise-esque detail, as he told The National.
“Tom and I, for a while there, were on Ford v Ferrari with Joe [Kosinski] to direct. This was about 10 years before the guys who actually made it – and made it a great movie. What it came down to is that we both wanted to drive, and [Tom] wanted to play Shelby, and I wanted to play Ken Miles. And when Tom realized that Carroll Shelby would not be driving much in the movie, it didn’t come through.

During the publicity tour for F1, it was revealed by director Joseph Kosinski that Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise were circling Ford v Ferrari before it evolved into the movie that finally made it to the big screens. Directed by James Mangold, the racing drama eventually featured Matt Damon and Christian Bale in the titular roles, while Pitt and Cruise satisfied their need for speed with F1 and Top Gun: Maverick, respectively. Both films were directed by Kosinski, who has established himself as one of Hollywood's foremost directors of big-budget spectacles. And less than a week into its theatrical run, F1 has already overtaken one of Cruise's most memorable hits: Days of Thunder.

Brad Pitt has revealed the reason why he and Tom Cruise backed away from starring in Ford v Ferrari. Director Joseph Kosinski developed an early version of the auto-racing romp titled Go Like Hell, based on the 2009 book by A.J. Baime, subtitled Ford, Ferrari, and their Battle for Speed and Glory at Le Mans. Pitt and Cruise were slated to feature in the film, but the project hit a major speed bump just as it was picking up pace. It turns out they slammed on the breaks because the Top Gun: Maverick star came to a realization about his role.
During an interview with The National, Pitt expressed his desire to reunite with his Interview with the Vampire co-star again on a future project, even though their previous attempt to team-up fell through. With an “F1” sequel inevitable after its blockbuster opening for Apple, rumors are swirling that the film may race into theaters with not just one but two of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise have been frequently mentioned in the same sentence over the last month — and it has been over 30 years since the pair appeared onscreen together in “Interview with a Vampire.” Pitt and Cruise almost starred in “Ford v. Ferrari,” actually — but Cruise dropped out when, according to Pitt, he found out he would not be spending very much time behind the wheel.

Critics have responded favorably to director Joseph Kosinski’s latest effort, and like his work in Maverick incentivized the theatrical industry to heal post-pandemic, his Formula 1 actioner is expected to rescue Apple Studios’ silver screen aspirations. The gears are reportedly turning on a potential sequel to F1following its successful opening weekend. Joseph Kosinski's Brad Pitt Formula One film raced out of the gate and managed to run laps around its box office competition, collecting $57 million from theaters in the US and Canada and $146.3 million worldwide against a budget of $250 million. A strong debut significantly increases the likelihood of a sequel getting greenlit, and Variety reports that Apple and Warner Bros. are not ready to bring the checkered flag down on the sports drama just yet.
According to knowledgeable sources, momentum is building around an F1 sequel, even though the film only released in theaters on June 27. The high-octane racing feature shares a pedigree with Top Gun: Maverick, as director Kosinski reunited with several crew members from his jet-fighting sequel, including producer Jerry Bruckheimer and writer Ehren Kruger, no doubt in the hopes of blazing a similar success story.

F1 has given Apple its biggest movie hit – and now plans are afoot to bring Brad Pitt back for a sequel. More here.
While reviews for Apple Studios’ F1 have been decidely mixed, the gambit seems to be paying off from a commercial perspective. Bundling a glamourous global brand with a movie star and a dash of dadcore looks to have given Apple what the studio has been chasing for a while now: a commercial success that it can be proud of.
Of course, there’s always the chance that those pesky reviews might cause a titanic second week drop-off – not least because a new Jurassic World movie is also releasing – but at this very moment, things look promising for a studio that has been in sore need of a hit after a string of releases that didn’t perform in line with expectations.
That seems to be a good thing for cinema overall,...

Tom Cruise & Brad Pitt(Photo Credit –X)
Brad Pitt’s Formula One sports drama F1 is now racing through theatres, and both critics and audiences have given it the green flag. Just last month, another iconic Hollywood actor, Tom Cruise, lit up the big screen with Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. The two stars crossed paths again when Tom Cruise recently attended the F1 movie premiere in London and praised his former co-star. And the first thing that crossed our minds was: how incredible would it be to see these two icons share screen space again?
Maverick & Sonny.

F1 is already speeding toward box office glory, pulling in an impressive $146.3 million during its opening weekend. And in Hollywood, numbers like that only mean one thing. Knowledgeable sources have told Variety that a potential F1 sequel is already in the works. Can they resist the urge to call it F2?
It’s always great to see an original movie succeed amid the usual stew of sequels… of which F1 may become. You either die an original movie, or live long enough to see yourself become a sequel.
Director Joseph Kosinski recently pitched a potential project that would reunite Brad Pitt with his Interview with the Vampire co-star, Tom Cruise. “Well, right now, it’d be Cole Trickle, who was [Cruise’s] Days of Thunder character, we find out that he and Sonny Hayes have a past,” Kosinski said. “They were rivals at some point, maybe crossed paths… I heard...

Joseph Kosinski is ready to fire up the engines again—this time, with a crossover no one saw coming. The Top Gun: Maverick director told GQ UK that his dream sequel to the recently-released F1 film starring Brad Pitt would involve one hell of a return: Tom Cruise as Days of Thunder’s Cole Trickle. That’s right—Kosinski wants to reunite Cruise and Pitt on the racetrack, reviving their on-screen chemistry three decades after they last shared the screen in 1994's Interview With the Vampire.
“Well, right now, it’d be Cole Trickle, who was [Cruise’s] Days of Thunder character—we find out that he and [Brad Pitt’s] Sonny Hayes have a past,” Kosinski teased. “They were rivals at some point, maybe crossed paths… I heard about this epic go-kart battle on Interview With a Vampire that Brad and Tom had, and who wouldn’t pay to see those two go head-to-head on the track?...

Tom Cruise is embracing the need for speed… but not of the “Top Gun” variety. On X June 27, Cruise wrote a congratulatory message to producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who not only is the man behind this weekend’s box office hit “F1,” but also the Cruise-starring NASCAR film “Days of Thunder” — released in theaters 35 years to the day of the new Brad Pitt-led Formula One action drama.
“I always love the fun and adrenaline of a racing film,” Cruise wrote. “Today marks two racing milestones for my friend Jerry Bruckheimer, the release of ‘F1’ and the 35 year anniversary to the day of our collaboration with the great Tony Scott on ‘Days of Thunder.'”
Cruise posted a series of photos from the production of “Days of Thunder,” all on the race track.
